A german jihadist who wants Germany to take him back says he turned against ISIS after his best friend, also a German, was executed by the group for making a video urging Muslims to blow up kindergartens. 😳 Sounds like he really became a nice guy.

Popular Front protest dispatch, looking at the situation on the ground in , is out now. It’s not a lot because we got kettled non-stop and weren’t allowed to move freely, but I put something half-decent together I think. Have a watch:

  7. The issue was never the US staying, just leaving while giving its local proxies a deal to reintegrate with Damascus that allowed them a modicum of autonomy. A Trump deal directly with Assad would most likely have been better than this.

Newgrange, Ireland is older than the Pyramids and Stonehenge. Every Winter a beam of sunlight creeps up along the tomb’s passageway & illuminates the burial chamber, marking the turning of year and perhaps the rebirth of the dead. Over 5,000 years old.

This nightmarish “compromise” effectively obliterates the largest Kurdish areas in Syria, & would put most Assyrian areas under Turkish heel as well. Damascus would reassume control of mostly Arab areas aside from devastated Khabur & a smattering of Jaziran Kurd+Ezidi villages.

Meandering Roman streets of Trajan's "Market" complex in central Rome. The area is so well preserved, it is easy to forget that it was built in the early 2nd century, c.110 AD, when the deserted streets would once have been bustling with metropolitan ancient Romans.

We will hold Turkey accountable for any actions to destroy America’s Kurdish allies who have fought so bravely against ISIS. If this happens we will, in my view, put Erdogan in the same category as MBS of Saudi Arabia.
