It's not your money. Money paid in taxes is given to the government to maintain all the services (highways, law enforcement, military protection, food/drug regulation, welfare, etc.) we enjoy. It is the price of living in a country with genuine concern for the well-being of its citizens.

Were you to suddenly lose your job and home, the services you pay taxes to support will be there to support you as well. That some people may use the money they receive in a way that you find irresponsible is none of your concern - you are not directly paying for their support, but rather to maintain the safety net for all. Randian grumblings about people wasting your tax money miss the point of the system.
