    As close to a confirmation as Trump is able to give. The US is getting out of Syria and the Kurds see history repeated for the umpteenth time.

    We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency.

    Everything with a grain of salt. The US has been unclear to say the least about its long-term commitments in Syria. However, if this turns out to be what the US is planning, it would only be historically fitting tbh.

    A win for Turkey, at least in the short term, and for Russia. The likelihood of a Turkish offensive east of the Euphrates is now stronger than ever. (The US never had a coherent strategy for northeastern Syria. Turkey did.) And the YPG has been hung out to dry.

    Today marks the 40th anniversary of the massacre carried out towards the Alevi community in Kahramanmaraş, in which (according to official statistics) 111 people died, 210 houses and 70 businesses were vandalised/destroyed.

    The offer to deploy Roj Pesh is about the only thing here that is relevant. The Patriot question is to do with Turkey's acquisition of S-400s from Russia and reports that US soldiers withdrew from positions in Syria was a fiction conceived by the Turkish media.
