    If accurate—and unless it's just a threat to put pressure on the SDF, or on Turkey, or on I don't know whom—it's the third U.S. policy flip in less than a year. Whatever Trump ends up deciding, the consequences for Syria, and Syrians in the northeast especially, will be enormous.
