    Here’s my two cents on the debate. People fighting for liberalism in places where the rewards are few and the risks are aren’t doing it for the West, its power, and it’s profits. Liberal values are universal, they are not conditional upon the West.

    I am a POC myself. I get that "taking space" is an act of resistance. But you're doing it all wrong if you walk into a coffee shop in finals week (while everyone is busy studying), with laughter as boisterous as a zaffa, and throw a tantrum when people ask you to tone it down.

    Ahmet Taşgetiren, the only example you could invoke, was fired due to lobbying from certain Erdogan advisors he criticized & landed a job at another crony’s paper. Claiming that conservatives were the “first victims” of Erdogan’s media takeover, as you did, is a demonstrable lie.

    It is not a "lie," because I was referring to facts such as firing Ahmet Tasgetiren from Yeni Safak, in mid-2000's. You may not even know; it is a different universe from yours, I guess. Still, have a good day.

    Please show me one conservative outlet that, even in the better days, opened its pages to a secular. A single conservative paper with anyone killed, arrested, or persecuted, let alone as many as . A conservative to whom AKP did what it did to Ilhan Selcuk at age 80.
