Question with 11 notes

pipedreamprayer asked: What do you think of Yusaku telling GO that he couldn’t have won against Revolver without his help – is this a realisation he’s come to recently alongside accepting Soulburner and Blue Maiden and Ghost Girl, or is it something he’d had in mind since it happened?

Well, that’s nothing recent; it is something he said right before Gou got digitized in episode 40:

There certainly is no recent revelation here, nor does it have anything to do with Takeru or the others. Yusaku has always been one to give credit where it’s due (and even when it isn’t); Yusaku’s tendency to feel immense gratitude to people is at the core of his character, due to Ryoken and the Hanoi Project.

Yusaku has been showing an interest in working together, but I would point to that being a matter of practicality rather than any sort of emotional development between him and the others. It’s simply the logical choice.

  2. pipedreamprayer said: i more meant that in your character analysis of Yusaku you said that the outcome of the Tower validated the idea that he should be doing this alone, and Takeru’s introduction was the foil to that mentality by working within its parameters. I thought that meant that it was positive progress that the team was expanding, a sign of character development, and if that was the case wouldn’t the way he reached out to GO not match up to his mindset at the start of season 1?
