People are assuming that all the NLF preparations are for YPG fighting. Turkey wants to clean house of certain factions in rebel-held territories too. Remember this. Any force trained has three purposes.

I personally believe al Shafah or al Susah will become active again. Heavy airstrikes there. Issue is there’s a large minefield in the desert near Shafah so it’s very hard to approach. And demining efforts will be heavily impeded by Daesh.

Daesh moves their forces slowly through tunnels. This causes many problems.

SDF is combing captured areas for tunnels and IEDs. There were advances today and the SDF effectively controls the entirety of the outskirts of Hajin. Tunnels are a huge, huge issue though. And need to be cleared before advances continue.

Confirmation that there’s movement. The SDF allegedly took ground past the market and control basically all areas on the outskirts of the town.

The goal of the artillery barrage is to keep Daesh underground. This allows the SDF to advance and clear them out. Otherwise Daesh can shoot from well-prepared firing positions with relative impunity. As they’re hiding behind thick cement.

A few hours ago the SDF attacked Daesh positions inside Hajin. And have allegedly made wide gains. Daesh supporters are insistent that the SDF were pushed back earlier today, but it seems that the opposite may have happened. There are lots of artillery strikes.

Earlier today, Daesh claimed that the Hajin hospital was bombed. Confirming that (at least 9 hours ago) the SDF did not have control of it. Daesh evacuated all in the hospital over a week ago and have used it as a firing position. But they might have put injured fighters inside.

There have been several Liwa al Quds members arrested by Syrian intelligence. Happened in Deir ez Zor. Might be a corruption issue.
