What exactly are the characteristics of a "club fragrance"?
I know that everything is subjective and there are no strict rules, but that being said, I still understand general distinctions like work/nights out/dates fragrances. "Club fragrances" however, seems like super specific, and I was wondering what's the difference between a club frangrance and one that you wear on a night out with your friends, wether you go to bars or eating out or whatever
They have to hit you on the head like a big club.
still don't get it sorry :( in a club you're much more close to other people so you shouldn't need a super strong fragrance to be noticed, also you usually stay in a club for a few hours, and a fragrance that lasts 10 hours would be useless
Clubs smell like sweat and vomit. At least, the cheap shady ones do. So you'll need something strong enough to overcome that. Then there's the other people in the club wearing 1 million and 12 sprays of whatever sugary crap girls wear. So it's got to compete with that as well. Lastly, you need something to last long enough to get whoever your trying to impress to forget how much alcohol you both have been drinking. All in all, clubbing scents needs to be strong and last long. Generally speaking.
You want the ladies to be able to smell it as you walk by them. It needs to last and cut through everything else.

If you like the fragrance go for it. Just don't overdo the sprays.
You can't wear 3 sprays of Eros at the Office. You can however, wear 5 sprays of Eros at the club
In addition to what people have already said, I've noticed most fragrances labeled "club fragrances" are very SWEET. Not 100% sure why. I think maybe it helps overpower the sweaty stench of a club.
All I know is I picked a sweet fragrance for clubbing that performs and lasts like a champ, and though it isn't my favorite that I own, I have gotten by far the most compliments when wearing it (Parfums De Marly - Carlisle)
