After @SabCharlie debunked Amnesty’s claims of “80% of Raqqa destroyed” by using Amnesty’s own data, they are know looking for help to come closer to that number: https://twitter.com/sabcharlie/status/1065933964723011584?s=21 …https://twitter.com/bellingcat/status/1067040474878361602 …

When it comes to Kurds in Syria and Turkey, Amnesty have no sense of urgency and a similar modus operandi: 1) Ignore the conflict as much as possible 2) Write an alibi report when things are over 3) Don’t contribute with any useful data about crimes ag Kurds 4) Repeat step 1,2,3

Take Raqqa for example. Amnesty is so keen to attribute all damage on the Coalition and speak of rebuilding the town, but they put no pressure on Turkey who blocks materials to the town and all areas run by SDF.

Raqqa, just as other towns run by ISIS, had markets where Yezedi women and children were sold, thousands are still missing, but Amnesty makes no effort to shed a light on their whereabouts or their suffering. Fake percentage of destroyed buildings are more important for Amnesty.

SDF liberated “The Capital of ISIS”. It was a center for attacks especially against Rojava, but also where ISIS planned attacks abroad. ISIS had dug in Raqqa. How was Coalition and SDF supposed to liberate it? Good question ->https://twitter.com/afrinsnotalone/status/1051924701424050176?s=21 …

In any case, it’s pretty telling that Amnesty now needs help to identify damaged buildings after they already threw out a percentage to push their report. And again, check out
