Hello , I am currently looking into demonstrations or strikes or other forms of civilian shows of discontent in Afrin post-Turkish occupation aimed at specific groups. If you know of any, could you please try to share the information and sources with me? Thanks.

    * in Syria during the civil war. There have of course been lots of ethnic cleansing and demographic changing campaigns in the past of equal or similar scale.

Turkey - after conducting the largest scale demographic change in Syria with the Afrin assault and occupation - accuses the SDF (being Syria's most multi-ethnic force with a rapidly rising Arab majority) of demographic change.

Can you resist this? Make sure you try some when you drop in Mosul.

I was willing to give them the benefit of a doubt, but seeing thia obviously forced confession seems to heavily lean towards Ukraine's version of events. If this was made for domestic consumption, they should have avoided subtitling it into English.

Re-opening of Syria's border w/Jordan in Oct. - a long awaited move to reinvigorate economic ties - is driving severe inflation in food and fuel prices. Jordanians are crossing to shop in Daraa and returning w/cars full of cheap goods daily.

This is not to say the same doesn't apply to, say, the US if Russia started meddling in Mexico for example.

When observing Turkey or Russia, one needs to remember their perceptions of neighbourhood and their self-perceived primacy in "their" region. Often they will do the same or worse than so-called Imperialists, only it is OK since it is their back yard.

Just want to add, I am not defending any type of nationalism. Just pointing out that the argument makes no sense and seems to only further racist narratives.

Not to jump into this cesspool of a conversation, but how is it helpful to confuse Kurdish tribes before Kurdish nationalism even existed as equal to Kurdish nationalism? Does that mean the actions of Arab tribes in the 1800s are a good way to judge Pan-Arabism somehow?

Note: if Maliki and other anti-independists visits to the KRI don't merit you making comments about "how Arabs are", perhaps be more careful about making comments the other way.

As much as I dislike Masoud Barzani and sincerely wish he would retire from public life, it has been a spectacle to see supposedly Pro-Iraqi Arab accounts flaunt their racism at his recent visit to Baghdad.
