“I’m not a scientist” doesn’t preclude me from reasoning from first principles, steel-manning ideas I’m trying to comprehend, or operating in good faith. Credentials don’t matter when dealing with reasonable people.

that video blew up on twitter today, so he was responding to that, specifically in the context of climate change
-
For sure, though that doesn’t change my response. Citizens are fully capable of objectivity. We can make better critiques.
-
Some can. But then only if you actually understand the science and have done the research. You have to admit that’s few and far between these days.

And maybe reporting should go back to being about news of things that have happened rather than endless predictions based on hot air!
-
The predictions are actually the result of repeatable rigor. They may indeed prove incomplete or wrong, but that's different than "hot air." If you argue more closely to the reality of the process, you're more likely to convince others, and you'll know more about why you doubt.
-
The models are biased. They haven't ever been correct. Which is understandable because they're trying to predict the global climate which is vastly complex and with infinite variables/drivers. Scientists that claim they can do it are lying. But all the money though....
-
Every scientific model ever has been biased if you claim that human involvement cannot be perfectly neutral, complex problem or not. But you wouldn't offer that claim for scientists trying to cure cancer or see the edge of the universe. Your argument is political, not scientific.

100% .. this is why I don’t watch news, especially American news. They ask people on the streets their opinions... honestly I don’t care about their opinion, I want someone that is a credible expert giving me information..

Thank you Mr.
@DanRather, for recognizing that science is important and just because we all need to eat, does not make everyone an expert in nutrition.@CNN, there are more qualified spokesperson on this topic, Registered Dietitians/Nutritionist for one.@BuildUpRDNsThanks. I’m not scientist, but i think these pundits are evolved from a reptilian species masquerading as human based life with the sole purpose of aiding the warming of the earths surface to better suit their cold reptile blood

Exactly! I tweeted almost the same to NBC & MTP. Networks that continue to toss around Climate Change as a political football rather than a scientific issue of grave concern are doing so unethically for ratings. I miss Fairness Doctrine & reporting (minus commentary).
