Did the UK design Ireland to be a state of crazy? The Islamic religion has itself started the conflict, as all "religions" do, Lutheran, Methodist, Protestant CATHOLIC, for example

The middle East was fairly stable the last 1400 years compared to other parts of the world. The religion is not the problem. The problem is that it is purposely designed to be like that.

In fact, these European Colonial Powers have made unclear borders among these countries when they got their independence. These disputed area were located in very strategic regions and were used ,many times , to ignite conflicts and wars amongst themselves.

Monocausal victim narratives help nobody.
-
Neither of these men could possibly be accused of such a thing. They are both well versed in the region’s geopolitics and history. There are perceptions about the Middle East here in the US that need desperately to be corrected...
-
...and holistically speaking, both these men and thinkers do that quite well on their timelines, I believe.
-
I don’t doubt that. I’m just saying that the above is a monocausal victim narrative. Such a narrative hardly ever is helpful given a super complex cultural and political situation as in the ME.
-
I suppose it could be seen that way...I didn’t when I read it, because I saw it more as a counter narrative to some pretty oversimplistic ideas about Arabs that I encounter a lot (people here often see Arabs as inherently more violent, less intelligent, less capable of gov’t)
-
When in reality the west has been present and involved in the Middle East for many many years, from occupation to occupation—depositions of dictators, oil rush, etc etc. — I don’t think it’s oversimplifying to say the west is invested.
-
I also don’t think it’s oversimplifying to say that various western powers have a vested and communicated interest in instability in the region.
-
I totally agree. But what You are saying is much more nuanced then simply blaming it all only (!) on the exploitative West. That‘s the problem with monocausal victim narrative: it disempowers one party by making it only (!) the victim. But of course: much damage done by the West!

The only solution is for the Ummah to be reunited again like the good old days. However this will be resisted by US and European colonial powers. The struggle continues.
