I don't think you understand what is being said... When you flag a post because it's the same image as one that's already been posted (as you did, and you should because you did post it first) then you should make the first posted one a parent post, that way when the repost is deleted, then anyone that has Favorited it, would be transferred, that way, they would then have the original one Favorited.
This has nothing to do with who posted what first, or who is better, it's simply to help the users that like the picture it's self.

I've never had to do this before. I have uploaded several images that were higher resolution to replaces low res ones that sat on this site for years and the old ones got deleted. All I did was flag the older posts and a day or 2 later they were gone. I mean sure some people bitched that they had to refave the image but that shits petty.

I don't think I own anything I post. But I certainly do not have to post any of it. If you look at my history on here you'll see that I have shared things that no one online had. In fact I have always done that. I am known for posting rare images/comics. All the older black and white James Hardiman Skunkworks comics were posted by me. I have posted several high resolution portfolios. Some were never even online until I posted them. I posted that stuff because I wanted to. Isn't that what sharing is? Correct me if I am wrong.

No I didn't. This is PNG format, yours was JPG. PNG is better quality. My decision stands.

Now, as for the PNG vs JPG, the difference is when you converted the PNG to JPG, you actually degraded the quality. Yes, the resolution was the same, however, the quality of the pictures were not. PNG does have a much better quality than JPG even if it was the same EXACT picture before conversion.
Now, I'd suggest stop arguing with a Mod, considering TheHuskyK9 actually knows what they're talking about.

E621 is not a social website like FA or other websites, it is mainly a image directory/gallery, deleting accounts would be highly detrimental to the website as a whole.

It was done LONG ago, when the site was new and not as complex or active as it is now, and while it was under a completely different administration than what it has now. We figured out early on that deleting accounts was not something that we wanted to continue doing, and it's very likely that the site would not be able to even handle deleted accounts now. Even if it could, it's a moot point, because we don't want to lose the information. It was a bad idea way back then, and it's an even worse idea now.

I'm saying this from personal experience. I've seen people use things like this against me years after it was over because they screencapped something. Back when I was allowed on FA I posted a picture of a friends dog and years later someone who had saved the image was posting it on chan sites with the title "sniffsvictim". That shit really hurt because I was very close with the owner who was like an aunt to me and that dog was sick and dying when they posted it. Kids on the internet DO NOT give a flying fuck who they hurt if it gives them a good laugh.

See that's the issue you admins have... you think everyone is supposed to abraise themselves for their actions and yes he's responsible but now it's border line bullying and harassment that his comments we're left up for the public to see. If he felt like it he could pay some people off to have e621 shut dow for this and why because of your thinking everyone should take the "it's my fault responsibility" role.
