    This Friday of Anger was dedicated to Daraa, as well as the other towns which were under attack by army during this time. Protest in Baniyas in solidarity with Daraa. Speaker shouts: "Our weapons are flowers!", as protesters give out flowers for the crowd to hold up.

    When the protesters reached the outskirts of Saida, they came under intense gunfire from all directions. They had walked into an ambush at an army checkpoint near the town where the soldiers had waited for them. More than 60 protesters were killed and dozens more were arrested.

    I agree. Many sided with rebels while they seemed winning, and while they estimated Assad was the sure loser. As rebels stalled and their healf hearted & manipulative "Friends of Syria" backstabbed them, they did too. Opportunists side with wherever the wind blows.

    I do not mean those people too. I was thinking of some Arab thinkers/journalists who gained popularity from supporting the Arab revolutions yet they praise other dictators for getting personal gains. They want to profit from their stances in both ways.

    I’m not joining in the lefty love for this tweet. Trump, nor his precedessors w/ pretty much exact same policies, are/were being Saudi’s “bitch” - Saudi is a US client state. And I mean, are we really still using “bitch” in this way in 2018?

    I don't blame anyone in Assad occupied Syria or living in pseudo democracies/ authoritarian states for staying silent or if forced nominally praising their despots. Sad though, how many Peeps even living in the Free World are silent, just care about consuming, don't give a damn.

    Many of those who used to write in support of the revolutions of other countries are praising their own dictators now. It is easy for people to pretend to be brave when they know they will not risk anything.

    regime has killed 100.000s of civilians in 7+ years. |n army has killed 10.000s of civilians in Syria in 3 years. army has killed far more civilians in Syria in 4 years than the rebels in 7+ years. Rebels have not killed many civilians.
