    على الرغم من وضع رمضان ضمن قائمة العقوبات الأوربية عام 2012 بعد ثبوت إصداره أوامر للجنود بإطلاق النار على المتظاهرين في بانياس ودرعا؛ فقد تم تكليفه بقيادة الفرقة التاسعة حيث كان برتبة عميد ركن ثم تم ترفيعه لرتبة لواء وعين قائداً للفرقة التاسعة التي شاركت تحت إمرته في معارك حرستا.

    President Bashar al-Assad’s military and allies have killed hundreds of thousands of people in Syria, both through conventional warfare and the torture, neglect & execution of prisoners. There is no reliable estimate to suggest they have killed millions.

    Beyond the immoral aspect (which we must not overlook) of formally letting MBS off the hook for Khashoggi's murder, the strategic logic fails. Yes, we do need a reliable Saudi partner to help confront an aggressive Iran. But the problem is, with MBS in charge, we don't have one.
