    Well it is, but the rabbit-chasing media is determined to muddle that.

    The President sold out our foreign policy for the sake of the Saudis, and it's not even the biggest story of the day.

    I don't know where to begin with this. Is he lying or genuinely this thick?

    Absolutely bananas coming from someone whose admin sided with Iran, Assad, Putin, Morsi, and Palestinian Authority. I genuinely don't know whether Obama crew is trolling us or just epically lacking self-awareness. I suspect the latter.

    Others believe can't risk alienating the Saudis because we will "lose" them to Russia or China. First, I don't think that would happen for a variety of reasons. Second, I sure wish it would!

    The great lie that many in the West have bought (or maybe it's because they have been bought) is that MBS will be a fundamental departure from everything we dislike about Saudi behavior. Wrong!

    On the Saudis, some people have repeated the old line to me about nasty allies: "They might be SOBs, but they are our SOBs." The problem is they are not! If it was just human rights abuses I'd actually be a lot more tolerant. A few comments...

    'Bout time Congress recalled it has a constitutional role to play in foreign policy.

    This will have costs: both for US standing in the world (already on the ropes and looking wobbly on its feet), but also for the Administration's policy. So bald an acceptance of murder makes strong Congressional response…

    I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but the ECtHR's Demirtaş verdict comes right after the court ruled that Russia had conducted a politically motivated campaign of arrests to prevent Alexei Navalny from competing politically.
