    This is indeed interesting, but it's not the first time has operated M60s. ISIS had an M60 in the in mid-2016 & another briefly in al-Bab, , after capturing it damaged from .

    For the first time ever we see using a M60 MBT battle tank in near the border to ! Never seen before, either in or !

    Even if you ignore the headline & read the article, this is still deeply misleading. The original report cited a small number of US & -supplied weapons falling to . How? The recipients lost them *while fighting* . That's war, not bad policy.

    Completely bizarre revisionism is seemingly the new in-thing when addressing the conflict & how it evolved over the yrs. Some if it is clearly driven by pre-existing political agenda; and some of it is written by people who know nothing of the conflict, beyond top lines.

    The 's slow rapprochement with 's has been well known & talked about in analytical & policy circles for at least 4-6 months. I'm surprised hadn't heard it earlier than a week ago, when a -n banker based in "broke" the story.
