I am looking at Atelier Orange Sanguine and Bvlgari Aqva Amara, and I currently have Ultra Zest. I was told it would smell like an Orange Creamsicle. It does not. Out of those 3 scents, or any other orange based fragrance, which is your favourite?
Bvlgari Aqva and Aqva marine. They're both "aquatics" but to me they're very citrus. Also Chanel Paris Biarritz tied
Atelier Orange Sanguine layered with Atelier Vanille Incense!!! OS is pure orange juice and VI is a creamy vanilla. Two sprays of orange + one spray of vanilla = orange creamsicle
What did you end up deciding? I to want to smell like dreamsicle.
I actually mix vanilla and orange oils together for the perfect orange creamsicle scent
My favorites:
Orange Sanguine - a spot on representation of a cold glass of OJ. This is straight up juiced orange with pulp in a glass
Concentre d'Orange Verte - the full orange grove, including the tree and entire fruit, rind and all. Starts more bitter and green
Sicilian Mandarin - bright, juicy and minimalist. sweeter and softer than Concentre
Ultra Zest - a bright, zesty candy-like interpretation that quickly joins in with vanilla and the usual Mugler base. Very much like an orange creamsicle
Dulcis in Fundo by Profumum Roma is THE creamsicle scent. Only two notes are listed by the house, vanilla and orange. It is really lovely, and I believe that luckyscent has the "travel" size 18ml bottle for ~ $80.
That's an awesome description:) Sometimes you wanna smell like you're eating an orange in the shower ya know ?
I agree, but I also think it can be deceiving. Clinique Happy and Mugler Cologne are two scents where I've received compliments on them long after I've stopped smelling them on myself.
Boss Deep Red: Blood Orange Creamsicle
Orange, really orange pulp (not the rind), try acqua di parma´s arancia di capri. A lot of orange notes are really just citrus, and sometimes green (unripe) rind citrus scents, so that really ripe fruit pulp scent is not there, but the AdP is the closest thing I have ever found.
different parts of the plant smell differently. orange pulp does not smell like the orange rind and either smells nothing like (months before) orange blossom.
I love orange scents and my favourites have been mentioned (Orange Sanguine, Tuscan Blood Orange and Eau de Manadrine Ambree) but I'm also going to suggest Eau de Cartier Essence D'Orange. Reviews aren't great, but when I tested it on my skin it smelled like orange zest and sugar crystals.
I think it's worth mentioning that the orange in R'oud is bitter
Second this! I've gone through two rollerballs of this scent in one year and just purchased two 30 ml sprays since I love it so much.
It smells strong for about 15 minutes and then dies waaaaay down (which is why I wear it right before bed). If you get some on fabric though it will last a lot longer. I had a dancing partner tell me "You smell like oranges. It's intoxicating." about two hours after I sprayed some on each arm and I think some scent transferred onto my sleeves which is why he could still smell it.
Eau d'Orange Vert is awesome. Smells like a sparkly mimosa to me.
Orange Bitters by Jo Malone is pretty good, might have been a limited release but I don’t remember
First of all, if you're looking for an "orange creamsicle scent," try Sunshine by Smell Bent. I have it, and it's a very nice scent, cheerful and perfectly unisex.
I don't like a lot of orange scents for myself. Many of them just don't smell good on me. There are a few that I like to wear, though:
Hermes Eau des Merveilles and Elixir de Merveilles
L de Lolita Lempicka
I really love Lacoste L'Homme, suitable for winter but the performance is very poor.
Anyone know where I can get a sample / small decant of this?
Department stores, such as Nordstrom & Saks if you’re in the states.
I was about to complain about how folks tend to ignore the sample websites in their response, but HOLY CRAP these samples/decants are expensive:
I buy samples all the time from these sites, but never at those prices.

Thierry Mugler Ultra Zest of course. Top notes are like fresh orange juice.
Hermes Eau Mandarine Ambree
I also really like this mandarin scent. The note of passionfruit makes it extra sweet and juicy, while the amber gives a warmth to it. ❤
Terre D’Hermes and Orange Sanguine are my favorites—the former, an earthier orange, the latter a brighter, juicier one.
I was going to recommend Orange Sanguine just from reading the title of the post!
Elixir des Merveilles also has a wonderful Christmassy orange note but Orange Sanguine is pure blood orange.
I haven't really found any orange fragrances that last very long, but John Varvatos Artisan (not any of the flankers, just the original) was pretty good.
Neroli Portofino is one of my favorite citrus fragrances, but I don't know if I would call it "orange based".
I wouldn't call Neroli Portofino orange centric, but it is a great fragrance in my opinion. Might be too feminine for me, though.
Terre d’Hermes eau Tres Fraiche, theeeee most authentic orange/orange zest/orange peel I have smelled in the designer region.
Niche, Byredo Pulp, it may not be a orange based fragrance nor be listed in the note break down, but I swear I smell a juicy ripe orange along w fig. Really fruity, ripe fruit to be specific. An acquired taste definitely. Can not wait to get a full bottle of this. Waiting for the hype to die down to purchase a bottle.
On another note, I find Cedre Atlas by Atelier to be very pleasing.
Terre d'Hermes eau Tres Friache has always smelt like a mystery meat pie to me - needless to say I never really liked it
Some fragrances just don’t work for some people unfortunately. I might of blind buy this one & it was an instant hit for me.
Second on Terre d'Hermes ETF -- I just wish it smelled better on my skin. I've had several Clinique Happy bottles and just recently switched it up with BVLGARI Aqva Amara
