If you still can’t find something in the new interface. Google Ads Quick reference map: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7635053?hl=en
If I wanted to bring people to a FoodPanda's listing of our restaurant, should I continually go for link clicks as the goal of my ad?
My facebook video ads also get good enough views but when it comes to actual engagement like likes, shares, I almost always am left with zero to one with 2-3k views.
Also, what would you recommend I study to be better at paid ads? Or articles/channels you can recommend? I've been running ads for 2 months, a complete beginner and although I've been getting good engagment, I feel like I discover more in the fb ad manager I'm not particularly sure I know much of.
So I'm trying out feed rules for a client whose product file doesn't contain data for the 'brand' attribute. This is simply to make optimisation in Google Ads quicker. The products all contain the brand name in the product title, so what the rules do is to check for various brand names in the product titles, and then apply those to the 'brand' attribute if it's empty.
It works, because I've seen all products labelled properly with the correct brand in Google Ads.
However, when my product feed is imported at midnight (every day) the rules aren't properly applied the following day. Some of them will have a brand name, but most won't.
Is this a common issue; does it have to do with logic or is it a matter of how large the feed is and load times? (The feed has aprox 11k items).
Edit: I forgot to mention that if I manually click the button in Google Merchant Center to process the feed when this problem occurs, the products do seem to gain their brand data in Google Ads.
Edit: This is what the rule looks like:
Hi, im begining my career, i have like 6 months working making ppc campaings. I have the Google SEM certification, Mobile certification, Analytics certification, know how to use Facebook ads, Excel intermediate. But i know digital marketing is more than that, so i want to hear your advice please, what other tools and skills i need to be the best? Maybe learn php, javascript, HTML5, css, mailing campaings etc. Thanks
Not strictly a PPC site, but I intend to drive traffic to the site primarily through cheaper PPC traffic (GDN mostly at first) and some non-Google search (Bing, etc), so I'm curious about this sub's perspective. It's an affiliate site, we write articles about products and link to affiliate products in the articles. The traffic is cheaper than the referral commissions, so we make money. I have good experiences with Wordpress, but it's a been a couple years since I built a content site site so I figured I'd check in to see what's good these days. What do you think? Wordpress? Squaresepace? Etc....
First post on Reddit!
Right i'm running an Adwords campaign and my avg position is 3.5 and it pretty much is when I search for it on Google, I find it on the 2nd or 3rd page. The problem is, when I search for it in Incognito mode, its the 3rd from the top on the first page.. So my question is, are people seeing it on the 3rd page or the 1st?
Thanks!
Hey everyone, I wanted to reach out to hear some of your experiences with setting your conversions for content views. I'm able to reach the 50 CV/week needed for Facebook to optimize. I can easily get them under a dollar per conversion. Is it worth having this traffic in my funnel? They don't convert near as well.
The problem is I'm looking for purchases and have a $100 item. I'd like to set up conversions for add to cart but I don't come close to hitting 50 per week. What should I do?
I've also been testing ads in the audience network, Instagram/stories with the news feed. I'm able to get my CPM down to around $6 (compared to $25 in feeds) which is nice but worth it long term? What are your experiences with placements? I feel like the feeds are too competitive right now.
I've went on google to look into this further but no luck finding any information.
Basically I have two campaigns running each targeted at a different country all CPC (cost per result) based charging.
I am wondering how my CPR (cost per result) is waaaay cheaper in India at just 40 cents per click whereas Singapore is charging me at $1.25 per click. They both have the same geo-target audience. Is there something I am missing here or a trick to optimize and make it cheaper? Sorry I am all new to this. Any input is highly appreciated. Thanks y'all!
I'm trying to get some more attention for my event so I've just given it a little boost. I couldn't, however, see an option to split test different creatives. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how to do it? I've also gone into my ads manager and looked into doing a split test there, but when I attempted that there didn't seem to be an option to set it as a boosted event, only a regular ad. This is my first time running facebook ads so I'm probly just being dumb.
Cheers!
Hello,
I have multiple campaigns on Google Ads!
Even though my Relative CTR is quite high, and the BID and Budget are sizable, my search impression share is stuck at 25%.
My bidding strategy is Target Search Page Location, Rank 1.
How do I increase it?
I have a job interview coming up and in it they want me to present how I would help generate new leads for a (fake) client with a 10,000 monthly spend. Obviously PPC ads are the best way to go to get the quickest bang for your buck, but outside of that I'm not sure how to approach this. Any tips?
I'm not sure if that fits into the definition above.
I'm leaning towards that it would be fine.
What do you think?
Hey guys, I'm thinking of starting a whatsapp group within the next few days for people who do digital marketing, wordpress stuff, some graphic design and other things like that. I know some of these things better than other things and I know other people have different strengths/weaknesses so it would be good to be able to bounce around ideas and exchange advice. Is this something you guys would be interested in?
Has anyone made a transition to become an UX designer?
I am interested in expanding my skills, and would like to hear if anyone has become an UX designer after several years working as a Digital Marketer/SEO/PPC.
Another reason is; the market is over saturated with so many Digital Marketing jobs, with subpar pay. Hence not sure where to move from here..
I have a serious concern regarding the Google Shopping Ads, PLA & Dropshipping. One of my client's have an e-commerce site.
They have been selling their products through Aliexpress dropshipping. Moreover, they import products to their website through plugin called a AliDropShip which allow them to add all the products to their e-commerce site just in a single click. It imports all the information along with images, product details and etc.
Recently, they decided to run Google Shopping Ads, they appoint me for that to do so. Prior to that, I have ran search network, display & call only ads campaign. I had an idea regarding the google shopping ads but haven't practically implement that. This time I got this opportunity to run it for my client.
Initially, I setup the google merchant center. Once the merchant setup and move ahead in adding product using feeds. I generate Google spread sheet & I fill out all the required information only. I fetch the products, but when I checked the diagnostic tab, I saw that the only single item that I uploaded got disapproved. The reason they disapproved as I haven't specified "GTIN, MPN & Shipping". I haven't these information from clients so I just leave those fields blanks.
Then, I just delete those column's and resubmit them, but I again got the same error. Then I generate the GTIN, MPN number from my own, I inserted around 6 numbers but got the same error.
Once, I am done with that, I started reading the guides and found that their is identifier_exists column that you can set to false if you have no GTIN or MPN number.
After the research, I fill out those fields accordingly. However, what I noticed that my item is still in disapproved list but I am able to see that product in google shopping ads. Then, after some time I realized that my Google Merchant Account is suspended due to shopping ads policy.
I am very confused now as what should I do. Moreover, I can create an other merchant and give it a try for same brand. Maybe time time providing them accurate information in very first attempt.
Thanks
We have performance-based paid social campaigns, but there's asks from the social team for things that are not at all easily tied to performance, that are IMHO, of somewhat questionable value to our customers compared to other things we could be doing.
The challenge is that there is no such thing as organic reach anymore, so instead of just being able to easily say "go ahead and post, we just won't be spending on it" the argument is now that unless we spend on it, it won't do absolutely anything.
And TBH, some of this stuff may be helpful to run spend against, but it is REALLY hard to justify spending the time on the one-off posts that get tossed over the fence of "hey, this is live, can we spend a little against it?" with no real sense of what they are hoping for results-wise beyond "reach and engagement." Those metrics do have some value, but not when looked at in this manner in a silo.
So.
How do you approach budgeting and setting goals around those sorts of posts, and managing requests for spending on things that clearly will never be directly tied to performance, and have questionable branding value at best? No is not always an easy option.
I've tried using PPC to validate new online business ideas in the past but after spending a bit of money have lost confidence in my abilities to set up and run a campaign. I've used both Adwords and Facebook Ads in the past but what I typically end up with is high CPC costs in Adwords that result in very low traffic or my budget being consumed straight away. If I try to get too specific by using exact match phrases then I also get very low traffic to my landing page.
It could be that my ad copy is terrible, but I'm not sure that's the case as I usually create a variety of ads and can often get low single digit CTRs.
With Facebook Ads, my experience has been better but my landing pages fail to convert particularly well. My customer acquisition costs remain high, I burn through my budget and then lose confidence in my abilities.
Can PPC advertising be this hit-or-miss, or do you think that I'm wasting my money?
Hey I'm aiming at a real targeted niche for the clothing and accessory brand I am promoting. We make alot of sales and have a load of online validation as a brand but I am new to facebook marketing. I am trying lookalikes + competitor brand, related music artists interests. (if you guys have any general suggestions with this)
Only thing is when I feel I have the perfect niche narrowed down between our interests, the potential audience drops down to 10k 20k people. I have seen posts stating to always keep reach above 200k is this a neccesity to see good results? I understand it probably differs from situation to situation but could anyone could give me any advice when it comes to this? I would be very thankful!
I might be moving into an SEM role at my company. I have a two week trial period.
I currently know how to find, add and remove keywords and adjust my bids. I can pace my budget with a basic report our team uses. I have Google Ads certifications and plan on getting Bing Certified.
What are the day to day tasks an SEM specialist at a 'make it your own' type of company should know how to do?
Any help is appreciated!
Every night between 8 and 11pm I get 100-150 new followers simultaneously. This is not a service I requested, googled for or did anything that could potentially lead to.
Instagram, obviously, doesn't care.
These fake followers are killing my engagement rate, and making it very hard for me to use analytics.
Is there anything that can be done?
Edit: I get dozens of messages/connection requests every day from marketers, is it possible one of them is doing this to come back later and say "look at what I already did for free... imagine if you were paying me."
I currently use Paypal but maybe it's time to be more professional? Who do you guys use? I'm a small shop .
Say I have a watch I want to sell and our competitors have reviews on watches we sell on YouTube. Can I suggest I want my product ads to appear in-stream on competitors ads?
The reason I'm asking this is that the setup of YouTube product ads seems to keep mentioning my 'own' videos.
Has anyone had experience with this?
Edit: This is different from the product ads under the videos, as those are normal PLAs with Google Partners switched on.
Long time lurker first post. This might be impossible because of privacy issues, but is there anyway to create an audience of just people advertising online? My target market includes people already using Google Ads or Facebook advertising.
I have a client in a niche area of HVAC contracting- Ductless heat pump installation.
We've maxed out search volume by bidding in this niche. I'm looking for ways to expand traffic. Top of my mind, we're looking at expanding into general hvac keywords such as heating and cooling or hvac contracting. CPC is going to skyrocket but I think this is the only play here. Besides bidding on competitors brands.
Do you guys have any other thoughts?
I have recently taken over an account and "Avg. Pos" is not available as a column anywhere...
I can see Avg. Pos from my mobile app, or I can look in Auction insights and see it, but I'd love to see it on the ad group and keyword level.
Any ideas? Maybe I'm just losing it.
