I might regret this comparison. Ever see how people that say cub porn is harmless because it’s fantasy, are also some of the people who say that “we should have recognized the warning signs” when it comes to school shooters? Does this parallel make sense? It’s fantasy, right?
There’s little to no research on the topic of “does cp affect the likelihood of a pedophile abusing a real child” so this whole topic sucks because you can never be right. I don’t mean video games. I mean how you act online. Does someone have the “symptoms” of being a pedo.

I know about the "the cartoons create demand for real CP" argument ... but I've also never seen any actual evidence presented. It's so easy to claim whatever suits your agenda in regards to CP, because who'd dare to commit political suicide by disagreeing?

Oh man. Read my replies whenever I tweet about it x3 A Looooooot Of people defend it as harmless.

It’s like if I suddenly claimed to not like paws and to never HAVE liked paws. Deductive reasoning.

I’m like punch-drunk in this discussion. I’m not sure what I mean anymore.

People disagree a lot on what that means. Scientifically, pedophilia is quite well defined, but that's not what people usually mean when they use the word. I am strongly opposed to child abuse, but it's too easy to drum up a moral panic on the internet today based on vague fears.

If the fandom has a reputation / PR problem because of cub porn, we should treat it as that. If the fandom has a child abuse problem, we should treat it like that. If someone's art makes us uncomfortable because we don't share a fantasy, we should not judge them on that, IMHO.

We're doing nobody a favour by mixing all those things up without any way to confirm if, and if yes, in which way they're related. Because that kind of emotional reasoning can be used against pretty much every taboo being broken. (Like, singing songs about horse cock :)
