Like. Writing about how you want to kill people isn’t literally killing people therefore it’s fine right? Up until the moment you commit a crime, nothing you do or say can be held against you. Right?

I don’t understand why most commenters here compare CP to video games. One is a super niche thing that you have to dig a bit for, the other is a mass media product consumed by billions. Video games aren’t a “warning sign”. CP might be.

Then furries should be treated as future animal rapists?

It really doesn't seem like anything other than a hysteria-driven double standard honestly. I don't see any legitimate reason why people shouldn't be treating pornographic depictions of rape just the same.
-
Look. If my character were real I’d probably try to date him.
-
Well yeah, because there's no moral issue there. There are plenty of people who get off to rape scenarios but instead just stick to fiction or roleplay because they fully understand that it would be immortal to actually do in real life. Why don't you treat rape comics the same?
-
Because it’s possible to like “pretend” rape someone who’s an adult and knows what’s going on. The aspect I object to is fetishization of children. I view it as uniquely bad and different from anything with adults. That said I probably wouldn’t buy art from a rape artist either.
-
If it's possible to like pretend rape then it's possible to like pretend children. I'm not into either of these things, but I don't see how you consider one of these to be possible and the other not to be.
-
See that’s where I piss off the OTHER half of my friends. If you wanna dress up like a baby as an adult I have no problem with that. Like Abdl people don’t bother me. This is so case by case to me. My complaint is really narrow.

You're basically using the "first person shooter games create real shooters" logic here - which didn't work out before. I don't like cub porn for several reasons, but if we want a good argument against it, it'll have to be based on evidence.
-
There’s little to no research on the topic of “does cp affect the likelihood of a pedophile abusing a real child” so this whole topic sucks because you can never be right. I don’t mean video games. I mean how you act online. Does someone have the “symptoms” of being a pedo.

I know about the "the cartoons create demand for real CP" argument ... but I've also never seen any actual evidence presented. It's so easy to claim whatever suits your agenda in regards to CP, because who'd dare to commit political suicide by disagreeing?
-
Oh man. Read my replies whenever I tweet about it x3 A Looooooot Of people defend it as harmless.

It’s like if I suddenly claimed to not like paws and to never HAVE liked paws. Deductive reasoning.

I think a more direct parallel is "thinking people who play grand theft auto or first person shooters will become school shooters."
-
Why? When you look at people who commit heinous acts, you look at the “warning signs”. Internet comments, orgs they joined, etc. Why does this logic not carry to pedos and cub art. How is it not “a warning sign”?
-
I think b/c there's a legitimate usage of art/fantasy to overcome past trauma that people have had in their own lives. Esp. queer people who went through hell during their own puberty. So can easily be a false positive. But it's also not bad to have suspicions or be leery.
-
These are two different kinds of art.
-
Possibly. But a lot of people won't see it that way.
