Because they’re different things.
But in fact, FN is another great example of why this is a problem: I was unambiguously in favor of FN banning cub porn, which they did. But they also became *aggressive* about moderating any babyfur/ABDL art whatsoever, forcing mature/adult ratings on completely benign work.

Unless they were putting anything considered a kink under mature/adult ratings (including things like inflation without any sexual implication), I agree that's not the way to go about handling it.
-
In the rules, anything "considered a kink" was mature/adult, but the enforcement - in practice - was very unevenly stacked against babyfur artwork in particular (I know which images were flagged and which ones weren't). I don't think that was entirely Furry Network's doing, >>>

<<< because after all, they moderate based on community reports, but that, if anything, is a perfect example of why it is a problem for this to be a focal point.
-
In that case, I still feel that CP is worthwhile as a focal point, but also that ABDL/babyfur isn't inherently "bad," or a potential tool for abuse is also an important part of the current conversation.
-
From what I'm aware of and have seen (and I'm sure there's things I haven't seen), I have no reason to be opposed to ABDL/babyfur content, regardless of my personal taste, and I'm definitely opposed to folks pushing against it for that reason. But imo CP is its own separate issue
-
Cub porn is a separate issue, but people frequently conflate the two - that's my entire point. It's kind of McCarthyist in a weird sort of way, which is why I brought up Tacklebox; he's an example of a good artist who became a casualty due to *overblown* fears.
-
And when you turn the *art* into the focal point, you get into wasting resources in the wrong places, while people who are ACTUALLY problematic (like Zaush) go under the radar.
-
I agree that Zaush has a much more problematic history and current situation going on here given his statements. I don't know enough about TB (outside of his art) to say whether or not he's a "casualty" (I'd be more likely to agree if he hadn't RT'd more graphic CP from others)
