Armaf and its clone army

I have always been a fragrance lover but in the last couple of months, mostly thanks to the discovery of this sub, I have really fallen down the rabbit hole. There are so many great scents out there it is nearly impossible to smell, let alone purchase, in one's lifetime. I know clones get a lot of hate but if you look at it from the perspective that they may introduce people who would not normally drop over $100 on a single bottle of fragrance to something new, well I think that is just fine. Not everyone is able to afford niche fragrances either.

There are many clone houses looking only to cash in; who's products are pale imitations of the original. In my opinion Armaf typically put out quality products that are often quite close to the scents they are meant to imitate. If you take a look at the Armaf Fragrantica page it is easy to get overwhelmed due to the massive amount of choices considering the house has only been around for about 4 years.

I attempted to solve this by putting together this spreadsheet to keep track of which fragrances are clones of what. Not every fragrance has a lot of votes or information however so not every single fragrance has its information filled in and some may be incorrect. Feel free to use it if you please. If anyone has any additional information about what is a clone of what I will update the spreadsheet with it.

This is a great list. It would be great to add your own rating out of 5 for each of the ones you’ve actually smelt

Great list thought. But I dont understand why clone the already cheap like Man in Black and Montblanc Legend. I can understand that CDNIM is a great cheap substitute for Aventus (I bought CDNIM as well). But why buy clone of the cheap designer, why not buy the original one?.

My guess would be to diversify and round out their portfolio.

As far as why anyone would buy them? Some people don't know any better. Also a few of their fragrances supposedly have better projection/longevity than the originals.

One correction, I believe Le Parfait Pour Homme is Aventus & Green Irish Tweed together.

Thanks for the list!

Corrected. Thank you.

CDNI for women is supposed to be noir de noir? Can men pull it off as easy?

level 2

I think a man could pull it off given the right occasion. I don't think a man can pull it off "easily" it is pretty feminine to my nose, like roses and chocolate.

I hope so, I was planning on making it my next purchase. Several male YouTube reviewers talk it up so fingers crossed.

This is awesome

Really have been wanting to try Futura La Homme. Anyone have any experience with this?

level 2

I have it and love it. Not sure how it compares to dior homme but it is very good. Its EDP and has great longevity. You can get it for around $30 so it's a great value I think

level 1

CDNI is an outstanding frag.

level 1

Great list! Has anyone tried Armsaf El Cielo? Some reviews claim it's an Invictus Aqua clone but I've yet to find it to put my nose on it.

level 1

How is tres nuit? Been wanting to buy it

level 2

Really very good and a great performer. A worthy buy

level 3

Should i get tres nuit or mugler cologne?

level 4

mugler imo. Both smells soapy but mugler smells cleaner, tres nuit is pretty synthetic to my nose too

level 5

What abowt the performance of mugler?

level 6

better too on my skin, last longer but tres nuit when it projects its pretty loud

level 3

it was a blind buy for me because i really like GIT its out of my price range.

tres nuit has a decent scent but its not great. similar to GIT but not nearly as good. there is also a performance issues. a couple hours after putting it on i can't smell it anymore. maybe its still projecting and i just went nose blind. i'm going to try and sell my bottle soon.

Thanks so much for putting the hard work in on this.

I own a few Armaf fragrances, mainly due to curiousity and price to performance ratio.

For example, club de nuit intense is a great fragrance. Having never smelt aventus, I can't comment on how close it is to the original but it's outstanding in its own right, in my opinion.

Tres nuit is supposedly a clone of green Irish tweed; as with aventus, I've never smelt the original so can't compare, but taken in isolation, tres nuit is fantastic.

There are some duds, however. Tag him was a waste of money, I feel. Weak and very short lived.

I'll probably buy some more armafs, at their price you can't really go wrong.

I respect close houses and will never give anyone shit for wearing a clone. I like Rasasi too, I'm wearing La Yuqawam which is my opinion the only clone I've encountered that is over 95% similar to it's inspiration in all aspects. Don't sleep on Rasasi, they make some really amazing scents too.

My only comment is when wearing clones keep your expectations grounded and to be blunt anyone who claims a clone is a 100% copy of another fragrance is being misleading either intentionally or accidentally. Expect when the fragrance hits about 300 to 400 and the clone costs 30. Fragrant alchemy doesn't exist.

You don't see that too much with Armaf or Rasasi but the DUA and Alexandria shills normally come crawling out of the woodwork so just be aware.

I've been wanting to try some Rasasi fragrances out recently, as I've owned La Yuqawam for a while now and during that time it's risen to the top of my collection to become one of my favourite fragrances.

Could you recommend a few of your favourite Rasasi fragrances?

level 1

As an owner of club de nuit intense because I'm too poor for aventus, I appreciate the list bro

Thank you for making this. I’ve been wanting to try out Armaf and had no idea where to start. Do you have a favorite?

I currently own 4 full bottles and have tried a handful of other decants so I'm certainly not an authority. It's hard not to love Club de Nuit Intense Man (10 minutes after you spray it). Also if you are a guy who feels he can pull off a rose fragrance Shades Wood is amazing. The rose is sweet and jammy and it's layered over saffron, incense, and woods. Both have amazing longevity too.

No ones commented but I just wanted to say thank you for your hard work!
