It's fine if @kothorix wants a break. Personally I think fandom is awesome even when there's human problems, sex is cool and fun when not evil, and what to do with problems is use your head and be a solver if you can handle it. Many furries do even if it can be a wild ride.pic.twitter.com/DGCAfoMa6X

I mean in my opinion about the chart, I don't doubt that this kind of thing has happened. Not saying the people there are listed did this. But it's not impossible to think it.
-
Happens in the regular world yeah but the point is it's not just a guess or opinion, it's falsified info presented uncritically as true, with claims built on top. That undermines credibility of an anecdotal complaint that i think just speaks for one guy.

I'll say high probability he'll bitterly linger around the fringes, making little snipes here and there, or he'll resurface after a year to remind everybody he left like That Guy Who Used To Be A Big Name. Because that's typical of anyone who makes a big dramatic exit like that.

Can't slam a revolving door

The other thing is the fandom will continue to grow and thrive and have fun without him. I don't say that out of schadenfreude. It's sad but true. Who knows? Maybe Koth will do some serious self-reflection and instead of blaming the fandom, focus on the real problem: Himself.

Blergh. The one shred of empathy I have for him is that I can relate to leaving a community - I've left a few. But that was always due to shitty management. Like, I loved my volunteer moderating position, but -my best friend/boss was abusive -the site owner was paranoid about
-
anything he'd have repercussions over (so we couldn't even talk about/help members dealing with depression/suicidal thoughts) -there was apparently a 5-10 year long war between the upper members of staff But, like, I was unlucky as hell. Most members/moderators will never have
-
to deal with what I dealt with. Which is all to say that I can relate, but not really. I haven't watched the video, and I don't know much about Kothorix, but spreading false claims about STDs and 'warning' newcomers to the community are red flags. It screams resentment.
-
The furry community is bigger and more complicated than any other community I've ever been in. This means two things: there are more toxic places than in some other communities, but also more rewarding and fun places. The latter aren't really hard to look for.
-
My first two furry friends were both extremely nice and decent people. I still talk to one of them to this day (but he's kind of wrapped up getting his degree at Stellenbosch). And I found them *before* I took an interest in the community.
-
So sure, it's good to tell people to get away from the shitty side of things, but I really don't think Kothorix understands what the toxic parts are. In part because he was in one of those ruthlessly toxic parts.
-
Unless you're telling me to get away from alt-furs and other abusive assholes, I'm not interested in hearing about toxicity.

I wish him the best in his next endeavor, but the furry fandom is not any better or worse than humanity as a whole. The difference is that many people only expect the worst of the fandom because of its bad rap, so they will only ever see the worst.

I more see it as "If I can't change the world then I don't want to be a part of it." kind of mentality. During his Kero chat he said he saw himself as a "hero", or that's what his goal was. And one of his complaints on the video was that there were too many people playing hero.

I really found this video frustrating. It's extremely anecdotal and his ideas are underdeveloped. The captain is bringing the ship down with him. No wonder he feels the way he does when he's gotten involved in every piece of drama in our fandom's history. I still wish him well.
