Survival thread. Not for the weird gun nuts.
I live in a major city in the U.S. Next to a natural water source. I'm prepared for 5 years by having:
- Knives and other tools
- A 2 month supply of MREs which I switch out every 4 years, either eating or giving away
- Several Survival Straw water filters that I can hook to water pumps/tubing that I can use for creating potable water
- Camping utilities
- A medical bag containing 5 weeks of antibiotics as well as regular first aid products
- Portable solar powered/hand crank radios to power handheld devices including a radio tranceiver/handheld ham radio (yaesu)
- a bag with various clothes including sleepingbags and warm coats
- 2 large canisters of propane, 6 camp canisters, various adapters, hoses and nozzles for transfer of fuel
My goal isn't surviving the total collapse of civilization (which is unlikely) but surviving a 2-3 month disruption of regular services.
Beyond guns, what should i add? I'm sure i'm forgetting something.
