As I've tried to say in that thread, that method is outdated and isn't going to work very well anymore. That guide is a red phosphorus reduction of ephedrine. It was the method used by biker gangs and 'home cooks' of meth in the 80's and 90's. It is simple, but completely dependent on easily available, and pure ephedrine. You can no longer get ephedrine easily, and the kinds you do get, have anti-meth making properties in them. When buying cold medicine with ephedrine in america, you may be requested to show ID, and beyond that, there is a limit to how much you can buy before you get some police attention. Additionally, the companies making the cold medication started putting things in the pills that ruin attempts to turn it into meth, which will gum up the chemicals upon mixing and just make a big mess.
The guide might have helped some people make some meth 20 years ago. It isn't helping anyone make jack shit now. Unless you like, live in India or something and can buy pure ephedrine without restriction.
FYI the meth trade used to be domestic, when this sort of manufacturing was possible. Now the meth americans use is made in super labs in mexico. This entire process has been shut down in america. And outsourced to mexican drug cartels. Economically speaking all the enforcement really accomplished was taking money of out of americans hands, but hey, that's a bit of a tangent, the point is, that meth making guide is basically worthless.

Mushrooms are the easiest to produce, but they are not highly sought after and are difficult to sell in bulk. MDMA is restricted because of its precursor. You can't make cocaine (without a large amount of coca leaves). You can't make opiates (without a large field of poppies). LSD is too difficult. Mescalin and DMT are easy to manufacture but suffer from the same problems as mushrooms. So in short, not really, the days of backyard chemists making drugs are pretty much over.
You can always grow some weed though.

Waaaaay easier! You dont need to buy sudafed or anything too regulated. Basic chemistry equipment (off the top of my head; stove, pot, jar, funnel, naphtha (household solvent), lye (used for making soap), and mimosa hostilis root bark.
All if these are pretty cheap, and while you still nead to be cautious, you aren't going to blow your house up. The drug can cause the "Breakthrough Experience" at about 50mg smoked, and can be enjoyed at lower doses as a short lasting, relatively tame psychedelic.
Look up something like "DMT MHRB Tek" to learn more. Better yet, go to erowid and find the dmt page, one stop shop for dosing, experiences, harm reduction, and methods of producing.
Also, my original comment was a bit jokey. To say DMT is just "way cooler than meth" isnt exactly a good description. It is unbelievably intense.

How so? Almost everything you eat or use was made in a somewhat similar fashion. The fact that dangerous chemicals were used along the way is irrelevant if they have been removed from the final product. I was at a chocolate factory the other day and had to go through a safety orientation about the pure ammonia piping running through the entire facility. Apparently its somehow used in chocolate manufacturing. Also in beer brewing. That's the active ingredient in windex btw (I also use windex as cockroach killer).
Also, FYI, you can be prescribed medically pure meth. Its called Desoxyn, and you'd get it from a pharmacy. They also probably made it in a similar matter (likely not with a red phosphorous reduction, but certainly with process that involved numerous deadly solvents).
Dangerous chemicals are used in the manufacturing of almost every product. Its generally a scare tactic to bring up this fact. Although, granted, its not like street meth passed any sort of quality control testing, contamination issues could certainly be present, but the fact that its crystallized reduces this likelihood (generally its difficult to get impure products to crystallize).
Point being, you'd be amazed at the list of chemicals involved in making a coors light, it doesn't mean the final product is going to kill you, that isn't how chemistry works. Although ironically alcohol is actually fairly toxic anyways. Maybe chocolate would have been a better example...
