Ankara's role in North Syria is expanding: From Turkish-language classes for Syrian children to the state-owned Turk Telekom company erecting its first cell towers on Syrian soil. Turkey is also paving roads, renovating mosques & setting up electricity grid.

No, “separatism” is only used in ME when Kurds try to achieve local governance within official borders. No one will call it “separatism” when Turkey together with Turkmen and Arabs, and blessings from Russia, impose non-Syrian governance on Syrian areas from Ankara..

The occupying Turkish army and its fascist gangs have replaced the statue of Kawa the Blacksmith, hero of the Kurdish Newroz story, with a monument to invasion. Clearly they don't remember how that story ends.

This puff piece by about the Daily Sabah, a Turkish government newspaper, is horrendous. It glosses over the fact Turkey is the number one jailer of journalists worldwide by saying simply "Turkey has a record of jailing journalists".

I am sorry about your fiancé. But is it nessecary to do propaganda for a dictator that also kills and imprisons journalists? He shouldn't face justice too, but rather be celebrated?

Kurdish families forced to hang Turkish flags on homes with threats to receive electricity fraud fines (which are lies) as punishment for defiance. This is settler colonialism; This is cultural genocide.

The death of journalism is when supposedly serious journalists use Sabah or Yeni Şafak as primary sources (to stuff happening in the REAL world) and hype their crazy claims non-stop. RIP ? - 2018
