There's a ton of confusion on Golden Sun Trademark. In Japan, Nintendo trademarked the English name "Golden Sun" in August 2018. It was the first time it was trademarked in Japan as its the English name. The US trademark has not been touched since April 2017.pic.twitter.com/2CNEKqmHgm

It means they can keep their claim over it and prevent other people or companies from releasing a product using that name.
