- hold down a job or any kind of 9-5 activity
- maintain any kind of meaningful non-superficial friendship
- maintain a meaningful romantic relationship that he doesn't immediately fuck up

Rick can resolve pretty-much any plot with some kind of technological ass-pull, but that's not really the point; the point is that he can't convey this power into his daughter having respect for him, him being happy or him feeling any sense of accomplishment.
