If everyone would sell their games on itch (or simply directly sell them from their own website), I'd happily buy their games there, no argument. But it gets real muddy as long as GOG and Steam are your *only* options because those are deeply unethical corps not worth a cent.
fair. i personally dont like piracy because i usually have the devs (the ones who arent asshole bigots, anyways) in mind, but like, im not gonna police what people do. i think some games will let you buy from their website, tho? like, i think stellaris does

i think the main draw to things like steam is stuff like achievements, and availability of mods and stuff
Honestly, I'm one of those weirdos to whom *lack* of achievements is more of a selling point, I find them very distracting. One of the main appeals of GOG for me was just getting the installer, and then play the game, finish. I want to keep that, just without the GG bullshit.
