The US has conducted its own extralegal assassinations on foreign soil too: Lumumba; Bin Laden; multiple attempts on Castro; attempts on other leaders like Trujillo, Sukarno, Diem; significant CIA involvement in Che Guevarra's killing, not to mention the drone strike program.

Israel has killed plenty of people abroad, including Iranian nuclear scientists. During Apartheid, the South African government assassinated ANC members abroad. Same thing has happened in Latin America. N Korea recently killed Jong-un's half brother in Malaysia.

Rwanda's Kagame has allegedly had his opponents killed abroad. And then of course there's the famous case of Pinochet assassinating Orlando Letelier in Washington in 1976.

It’s a sad irony that this happened in a country whose government has been abducting its citizens abroad, all over the place from Albania to Mongolia.
