Just hear me out please. Kicking pedophiles out of the fandom is an admirable goal. No decent human being can or should EVER tolerate sexualization of children. I’m glad furries seem to care about this all of a sudden, but considering the methods, I must question the motives

Admittedly, I don’t have a high opinion of “the babyfur community”. I have seen it fail to self-enforce basic standards. There’s serious problems w failing to denounce those who sexualize kids, and those who push boundaries. But that still doesn’t justify the rhetoric I’ve seen

The babyfur community, like the fandom at large, has serious problems. if I was seeing people actually challenge those problems I’d be on board But instead, I see, “if you act childish for any purpose you’re a sick fuck who deserves to die”

somehow this discourse has mutated into “all of them are pedophiles who should be shot” do you know what one of the most common reasons is, for people trying to regress and make-believe a better childhood for themselves as adults? Because their childhood was stolen from them.

You fuckers are so desperate to have an easy scapegoat in a time of complete sociopolitical upheaval, that you are accusing a great number of child sexual abuse victims of being child sexual abusers themselves. Not because of anything they did, but because they “gross you out”.

There’s a LOT wrong with the babyfur community. Certain aspects of it, I think might be far beyond redemption But many participants are people going through significant trauma and pain, and this is the one way that they have found to access this makeshift form of therapy

I’m fine w losing followers and prepared for backlash. If you think that raging and crusading is more important than learning and understanding, if you think it’s ok to twist the knife on all these CSA survivors for the sake of your internet purge, I don’t want you as a friend.

[CSA] To make my position clear: sexualizing children in any way is unquestionably wrong. CP/ loli/ cub porn/ etc is unacceptable. Predators use that material to normalize abuse when grooming children online. But an adult sitting there with a coloring book isn’t hurting anyone.
