Its not oddly specific at all. They're depriving their inmates of emotional, physical, and romantic support of the people they love because they want them broken down psychologically so they re-offend when they get out and get sent back so the prison can make more off them.
That might be reaching a little, but I can't factually say it's wrong.
Probably just as a compromise to avoid people just making out the entire session.... ba anyhow
We already know Arizona sends people to cyclical therapy and that private prisons are for-profit, is it really that much of a stretch to claim that weird and otherwise meaningless "policies" in such a place are there purely to try to maximize profit?
