If the sitution escalates, the Sochi deal and the Turkish guarantee to prevent any regime assault on Idlib will enable to armed opposition to gather its forces and focus on HTS without trying to secure the frontline simultaneously.

In internal NLF chats, some already started to call for a united response to agressions in , after the last agression in Kafr Halap. Also many heavy weapons pulled out of the demilitarized zone may be used against HTS.

Also a bad sign for : According to the Sochi deal, only 7/8 days remain until the deadline for Turkey to clean the demilitarized zone from radical groups, most important . Turkey may use any escalation in Idlib to get rid off HTS. Especially when HTS is the aggressor.

In contrast to the last fighting, the odds for are really bad. Last time Faylaq us Sham was focused on the Operation Olive Branch and stayed neutral. This time all rebel factions formed the NLF alliance. If the situation escalates it wil be a major test for the NLF umbrella.

Attacking Suqour al Sham may prove itself as a big mistake if doesn’t manage to calm down the situation. Suqour al Sham was part of and joined the Jabhat Tahrir Suriyah defense pact in their fight against months ago. will surely aid its ally

However, Russia seem to be unable to restrain the regime and allied militias on the ground. Artilellery bombardement to the demilitarized zone hasn’t stopped since the Sochi deal. Even today, regime forces shelled locations in Latakia

Turkey has 8 days left to arrange the withdrawal or elimination of all radical groups in the demilitarized zone. Also remarkable: No Russian or regime airstrikes in Idlib since the Sochi deal. Turkish UAVs started to operate over Idlib.

Yesterday, National Liberation Front pulled its heavy weapons out of the demilitarized zone. NLF will remain their positions at the frontline and also their HQs within the demilitarized zone. Turkey will further increase its military presence & deploy heavy weapons.

After negotiations between the Turkish & Russian delegations, the demilitarization zone will be implemented only in rebel-held areas. Sadly, not all Turks are good in negotiations like Erdogan. These boundaries are a partial loss, but still full-scale op on Idlib was prevented
