a) Most people are not equipped for a conversation with a racist. b) Racists are not interested in being convinced, because they don't see themselves as racists. (Or, they think their racism is reasonable.) c) The validity of minorities should never be up for debate, full stop.
If you follow my tweet history, you can see I actually spend an inordinate amount of time talking and arguing with them. Mostly arguing. About two~ weeks ago I went into the altfurry telegram when I saw 2 talking there, and to test the boundaries of the channel>>

Did you go into the chat to prove your own bias or to objectively examine the group's behavior and beliefs?
-
I went there to poke the hornet's nest and see what happens. Up until that point I was along with 2 in believing that it was a tiny minority of white nationalists and a large majority of annoying edgelord chan-trolls.
-
The best way to get to the truth of someone is to make them angry, and I got a good deal of them annoyed just by questioning their apologetic beliefs into race realism. That changed my mind that it wasn't a minority who holds the belief in altfurry.
-
Which sounds like went in to confirm your bias that they're all white nationalist.
-
I certainly confirmed that there's a powerful number of them that push a white nationalist agenda, and everyone else is silently complicit with it, yeah.

I brought up that race realism is a bunch of fucking bologny. I estimate that at least eight to ten furries tried to argue against me that I'm an anti-white bigot who doesn't understand the science behind scientific racism.
-
What about the rest of the chat? How did they respond? Did they agree with you? Did they stick to the middle ground?
-
Pretty sure there's more than 8 to 10 furs in the chat and I don't think they all believe the same thing.
-
I ~think~ one person said "I don't think there's enough evidence for race realism." Everyone else was silent. There is little to no debate in that channel unless you bring up a left-wing view, then it's like you threw chum amidst the sharks.
-
How long were you in the chat?
-
About two hours. Otherwise I have a sleuthing account that I watch them with.
