They're all here! I'm too lazy to flood my FA with submissions and FA isn't really the place for it. If you are in one of these photos, feel free to post it on your FA and give me credit for taking said photo.

I may post a review of the convention later, but in summar, great dealers and artists alley but shit crappy hotel and layout and sad they're using the same hotel next year so I probably won't be going back. There's plenty of other conventions for me to attend <3 (the staff was awesome though)

I'm not sure if the furry community is much into this new "game" called Ingress which was developed by Niantic Labs, a part of Google.

Basically it's a game you play with your GPS on your Android phone. You go around searching for portals which you can claim for your team, or if it's already on your team, you can strengthen it. You gain levels and the higher the level, the more powerful portals you can attack. It's a lot of fun but takes a lot of work. Yes you do have to drive around and get out of the car sometimes and walk around, but it's all worth it. Plus, it gives nerds a reason to explore and exercise.

This can explain it better than I can: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingress_%28game%29

So I think I'm going to do this con. It will be my first FWA =D

My question is if anyone will have a room space available, preferably half a bed. If so, please note me or comment below so we can chat. I do want to stay in the hotel of the convention.

Hope to see some of you there =D

Hi all! I don't usually do these but I absolutely love this under-rated artist, and if you haven't checked out his art yet, you should. His FA is at imiak imiak. He has a rather unique style.

You should check out his journal at http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4126061/ for full rules to see how you can possibly get your character drawn. At the very least, you should watch him ^_^

Weasyl is an amazing new furry art site with a great interface and community. It's still private membership but I have some invites I can give out as I'm now a member. Please comment here if you are an artist and want an account here. If you've drawn me before, you get priority because then I can add my commission done by you to my gallery easier. Let me know if you're interested =D

I have to rant. I'm just getting really fed up with how this fandom views any style of music between 130 and 145 beats per minute: as in progressive, trance, hands-up, and hard dance.

I have been a DJ for ten years and have held a weekly radio show, held a residency at a nightclub, and opened for a number of events. I've DJed at several conventions and have even held my own house parties.

But I am regularly turned down for DJ slots at furry conventions in favor of DJs that use pre-recorded sets and just play the same dubstep songs over and over.

Why?

Because I play trance...

I recently applied to a convention and was told that my music was too "high-energy" and that he wouldn't book me because he thinks the only genres furries listen to are electro and dubstep. I thought this was appalling and believe furries have a bit more variety than this. The only reason people don't think furries are big about high-energy music is because conventions keep booking electro and dubstep DJs. Well of course furries are going to dance to that because they love it, but I think they'd dance to anything to be quiet honest. Furries love having fun.

However, whenever I talk to furries and read forums, I hear about them all complaining about the same thing... no variety in music at conventions.

I agree. There isn't. It's all the same beats per minute at around 128 and it's all house, electro, and dubstep. There is literally no variety at convention dances and I have no reason why. The statement may be argued that fursuit friendly dances play top 40, but that doesn't really count.

Are furries now limited to only enjoying Skrillex, Deadmau5, and Daft Punk? Is this all they know?

I don't believe so. I'd like to give the fandom more credit than that.

What I'm curious about is what my watchers think or anyone who comes upon this journal.

Are furry conventions not playing enough variety of music? What do you think of the DJs at conventions? Do you believe that furries are truly that close-minded about dance music?

So it turns out that I can finally use some ticket credits I had last year but had to use them by October 4th. What better thing to do then to go to Seattle for RF!

I got a last minute room with ArtemisVulpes ArtemisVulpes and we may need a third person. If you're interested, please contact him directly. You can see the topic at https://www.rainfurrest.org/forums/.....f=47&t=910.

So yay! I already know that asher-the-firefox asher-the-firefox and takum takum will be going too so it will be nice to hang out then again. Are you going? Let me know =D I'll be arriving Friday and leaving Monday afternoon.

Hi all. So first news... I got a new job! I'm working for an MMO publisher in there email technical support department. So far I love it and it's quieter than my last job at BioWare lol. This job I can sit and relax and listen to music while working on my own. I like that.

I was worried I wouldn't be able to go to RMFC due to this job, but I got the time off approved =D Only problem is.. I don't have a room. I want to stay in a room that doesn't already have more than three people and I need Thursday through Monday morning. If anyone is available or knows of someone who has space, let me know please. Thank you ^_^

Hi there! I have an unusual request... you see one of my best friends, asher-the-firefox asher-the-firefox is working on a new trance track and he really wants vocals for it. He will distribute the track for free with your name in the ID, such as Ash 9 feat. Your Name - Flying Eternity of Love or whatever the name of the song is (hopefully not that lol).

So if you are female and can sing, post a sample of your work either on youtube or soundcloud and I'll have Ash take a listen to it. Also if you have any lyrics written, that'd be even better. It may not have to be too complicated. The focus of the song will be the music and probably not the singing. Even if you can only coo for a few seconds, he could chop it up and use it throughout a song.

Of course he couldn't pay you, but he'll distribute the song for free and you will get exposure, plus me being a DJ your music will get played at any events I DJ at in Austin or at national furry conventions.

Hope to hear from some of you =D

I found http://www.landoverbaptist.net and thought it was real XD I then made an account called Red Wolf and started arguing against the various comments below. I was then given "infractions" on the forum and had my posting time delayed and then had my username changed to "mangy disease infested dog jimmy." After posting a serious journal about this, I was informed that it is a joke site much like christwire.org. Here are some fabulous quotes from their forums:
Rev. M. Rodimer: when God says in the Bible to execute homosexuals, adulterers, fornicators, and people who work on the Sabbath, how is that our "bigotry"?
Pastor Ezekiel: They call themselves "furries," and believe it or not, they have a desperate desire to committ bestiality with each other. They want to become animals and offend God in the most repulsive manner possible. God hates them.
Marshall: What could be worse than a sissy for a son? The shame of it must be overwhelming. Even a daughter is better than a gay son.
Levi Jones: God says to beat children. If you had ever read the Bible you would know that.
Redeemed Papist: Now they are using our children against us! I blame not beating the ungrateful little shits. If they got a good whacking every time they spoke up for their gay friends and parents got proper support from the authorities this issue would be over in a jiffy.
Pastor Ezekiel: The only people who have the AIDS are those whom Jesus wants to have it.
Cranky Old Man: Minecraft is not really a video game. It is amazingly much worse than that. It is as if Satan, Second Life and The Sims all had a huge sex orgy and Minecraft was the bastard child that came out of it. They even have a specific variant called "Lava Survival" in which children falsely learn it is possible to escape from Hell!
Rev. Jim Osborne: We know the Earth is flat because the Bible tells us so. But for those of you skeptical, close-minded types that flat out refuse to accept the overwhelming Biblical evidence, I have designed some experiments you can do at home that will show you, before your very eyes, that the world is indeed flat, and not spherical as some crazy scientists proclaim.
Cranky Old Man: Down syndrome has been invented by people who are too lazy to study, too lazy to work and even too lazy to wipe their own butts. By acting like complete idiots they avoid scrutiny and get passed all checks in our system to receive free care and free money without ever having to do anything to actually deserve all that. Parents who are too lazy to properly raise their children teach their children to behave like drooling idiots so they no longer have to fulfill their parental duties.
Mr. Jingles:While I agree that George W Bush is God's Own President, he did make one mistake. President Bush never established the Department Of Ex-Negros. A fine program like that would help lift thousands of colored people out of negrohood, helping them to embrace American life at it's finest. It would be a valuable use of our tax dollars; i'm sure Clarence Thomas & Larry Elder would agree.

So I'm confirmed to go to AC and curious which of my watchers will be heading there. Unfortunately, I won't be DJing there, but just like the fox and the grapes, I've justified it as a good thing since the con seems hectic enough already. I managed to get a room in the con hotel so YAY =D I can't wait.

If you want to meet up at the con, note me your phone number (do not post it here unless you like stranger danger texts). Maybe we could do lunch or something.

I look forward to seeing some of you there =D

So lately I tried out the two popular all-male furry paysites out there: Hard Blush and Tail Heat. I must say Hard Blush had plenty of content but only about 10 new images a month and at $17/month to me it isn't worth it. If they provided high-res art that'd be one thing. So the thing to do with HB is subscribe for a month a couple times a year and pull down all the wanted content. Also, if you like role-playing in public forums (I don't) they have a huge community and you can easily have multiple characters. For this, it may be worth it to you.

Then there's Tail Heat, which was a joke to me when it first opened. They were charging $20/month for all of the couple dozen images they had online. Once they got a lot more artists I was interested in (tygurstar, anakuro, bonk) I decided to join for their $7 trial. What I found was about 150 MB in content including stories and animations. Although they have a lot more stories than HB, they don't have enough content for paying $20/month. They also have no community and 404 all over the site. So I thought $7 to get their full library isn't bad. Well I did that, and then discovered this atrocious thing: Look closely

That's right... they watermark your Tailheat username all over the images... yes they cover the characters and everything. To their credit, it's hard to see at first. But once you've seen it on one image, you can't stop seeing it all over the other images.

So this is what I get for supporting artists? Artwork defaced with watermarks all over the image? Let's say a few images do link onto a chan... it's exposure for the site. Why did I join? Because I saw Tailheat images that I like posted in a gay furry chan.

It is my full recommendation to not join tailheat at all. Once they learn to trust the users that are willing to pay for the content, I might change my opinion. But for now.. I don't.

I'm done... I'm just done with relationships for now and opening my heart to anyone. I told someone very personal information which was later relayed to others that he had no business sharing. I'm also apparently ugly, an asshole, and a creep. All my past relationships have been shit and I have many enemies and I'm fed up with getting hurt all the time. I can't seem to manage my boundaries, so I think cutting everyone off seems to be the thing for me to do. I've tried therapy, self-help books, weird new age courses, etc. Nothing helps me. I'll still have friends of course but it ends there. I'm tired of showing my heart to others only to get stabbed in the back later. I can't take it anymore...

I haven't owned a car in 7 years and I finally found another Celica. I used to own a 2000 Toyota Celica until I totaled it while falling asleep on the highway (not advisable), and I Found another one! I was hoping for it to be a red rocket but it's actually blue.. but a fresh paintjob! Car looks amazing and even has a touchscreen DVD player in the dash so I can blast trance music while a furry slideshow plays! Oh yes... I am. As for watching DVDs while driving?! NEVER! I would never... can't even believe you'd think that. D>

I should be picking it up tomorrow after having a mechanic look over it. Once I get it, I will take photos of me with it... yes it's that sexy :3

As for those of you who don't watch my Facebook, I was laid off from BioWare on Friday. My one year contract was up and they couldn't pull me on full-time, but I did have a great job interview somewhere else that also makes video games so hopefully I'll get that. In the meantime... back to unemployment. For those of you who just love my commissions, I do still have some in the works and a couple badges I haven't scanned yet. I also have two couple pieces coming out which some of you may like. I will slow down on the art though until I get another job. I gotta be responsible D:

I'll keep you all posted ^^

So tim efor another con! This one was easy to go to since it was in Addison (close to Dallas). I drove up with aidangunther and we got a room in the hotel of the con. We were also joined with ouenwoof.

Hotel: The hotel of the convention was a nice change from the large and spread-out hotels of past cons. Everything was close together and easy to find and the staff was friendly.

Panels: This wasn't really a big con for panels. I did do the Furoticon tournament, which was a lot of fun. Most of the panelists seemed unprepared and doing it on a spur of the moment. The adult writing panel was mainly taking questions and not teaching theory, which is what I wanted.

Furry Variety Show: I only caught part of it due to Furoticon conflicting with it. Why they didn't start Furoticon and Knotcast Live later so you could do the variety show AND an adult event, I have no idea.

Fursuit Dance Competition: I always love the fursuit dance competitions, and since there were less contestants in this one, they all got to dance to a full song. Also, my personal favorite, silverwolf16 was there to dance to September. I was rather happy with the song choices. I also discovered a new dancer I liked, Cascade Husky

Dances: I actually got to DJ this one too! This con had the best lighting and sound I've seen at a furcon. Speakers surrounded the floor. My only complaint was the looping pony videos, other than that, great one! My DJ sets were 2 AM on Friday and 3 AM on Sunday. On Sunday I got to do a tagteam set with psyfur which was great fun! I hadn't done that in awhile. Even though I didn't get big crowds, I had several people come up to me and tell me they loved what I played and it was a breath of fresh air. Thank you all.

Art Show: A bit tamer art show, which was good for my wallet. I just walked away with a myenia/rukis collab for $80, so I think I did well. It's a sexy piece =Dd

Dealers Den: A smaller dealer's den, so I focused on commissions instead of prints/CDs this time. I got some lovely commissions, which I have posted. I'm still waiting on an amazing one from bushycat that has me and my new friend/interest Floofeh in it. She has to mail it to me D:

Artists' Alley: Yes here! But small and the same people every day. It was a small con so that was to be expected. I heard Dipper went to this con, but she didn't get a table sadly.

Fursuit Parade and fursuiters in general: Not a lot of fursuiters as other cons (but this was a smaller one). Of course there was mikase who was a favorite. Also my friend utunu suited some here as well.

So in summary, this was a nice con and a break from the hustle and bustle of MFF and FC. I met a lot of people I knew online and got to match faces to names. I loved meeting Skyy as well who I've known online for two years now. Thanks all for the great con and hopefully see everyone at AC =D

As some of you may know, and some of you may not, my recently relationship that I had little fear ending.. has ended. I lost the best boyfriend I've ever had. Before anyone thinks of blaming him, it was somewhat mutual. Van and I were having lots of issues in the past month and with his reluctance to move to Texas for various reasons and me being unable to move due to my amazing dream job, he pulled the trigger on breaking up. I am devastated despite seeing this coming... I had a lot of faith in this relationship and it's gone. Messaging artists and canceling/changing commissions and hearing our song and everything is making me feel so childishly sad. I'm trying my best to stay active with friends and to not hole up, but fuck it's hard.

So I'm going to be the typical person and start trying to find another mate immediately? No... I'm going to focus on my life, try to go from contract to full-time at my job and get my own car, own apartment, etc. I have money saved up so I can do these things hopefully soon.. just some technical things need to be worked out (Texas has like the worst DMV).

Right now I freely invite anyone to message me or talk to me or something. I'm feeling extremely lonely and want company and I'm sorry but I'm not in the mood to reach out for it... I know that seems selfish but I'm rather upset. I can barely get through my workdays.

I know over time this gets better... it's just lasting through that horrid part. Thanks to my friends who have been there for me. Sorry for the dramapost... I just thought it was important.

So I went to my first con of the year FC for the first time. I went with my best friend aidangunther and we got a hotel about 2 miles from the con. When I booked it, I thought it was less than a mile but it was as a bird flies so... yeah. We walked it the first few times then started taking the lightrail. It sucks to walk around a convention all day and then walk home for 20-30 minutes.

Hotel: The hotel we stayed at was pretty good at the $80/night rate especially with the jacuzzi. The convention itself was half in the Marriott and half in the convention center. The only good thing I can say is the ATM withdrawal fee was only $2.50. The 20 oz sodas were $4, ballpark nachos were $6... I never saw the consuite but I assume there was one. Apparently union workers were involved and caused issues in the setup of things, such as the dance. I enjoyed the hotel at MFF more, but I wouldn't say it was bad. It was a good combined venue.

Panels: I was not a fan of how the panels were scheduled. I enjoy going to writing and species panels, but they were just grouped together so five panels were going on at once and usually they were all related. For example, Phox was supposed to lead a panel on dancing but they scheduled it during the fursuit dance competition, which he was in. I went to a writing panel that spoke about the power of religion, which I walked out on. The one panel I was able to go to that was actually properly scheduled was a writing panell with kyell and rikoshi. Sorry, I can't remember the others. That was very informative.

Furry Variety Show: MUCH better than MFF. The hosts were entertaining, thought went into the acts, and there were no pony references. A rather good variety show, but amazingly short. But I enjoyed sitting through the eight or so acts at FC MUCH more than sitting through the 20 acts at MFF that well... were not good for the most part.

Fursuit Dance Competition: Once again, a great treat! And a larger variety of music than MFF. Also I NEVER heard Party Rock Anthem! Truly fun. The choreography was great and then they had one on one freestyle dances. Unfortunately I had to leave right before it ended to get my badge from xianjaguar, but still I loved it. Also Silver (who is green) danced to a great track by Clokx! And he won for it =D

Dances: I actually got to DJ this one! I was originally told I could DJ Sunday (which was nice of Tigon because I applied too late), but one of the DJs came in too late and I took their set on Thursday and they took mine on Sunday. I had a great 45 minutes and got to open for my friend freefox. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately the guy before me used a pre-recorded set and a lot of the crowd was already gone, but the crowd that was there really enjoyed me. The rest of the dances were the general electro and dub stuff that's played at cons these days. However there was one DJ that played a Gareth Emery track and he got the floor packed.... so he then changed styles and lost the crowd. People love trance... you just have to play it D> Having two rooms was nice though so if you didn't like one set you could go hear another.

Art Show: This art show was much more ruthless than MFF. Not only were there much bigger pieces by Blotch, Rukis, etc but people were bidding crazy prices for even prints. I did manage to get home with some won items, but I lost out on a lot I wanted. I did go to the live auction and that was a lot of fun. I walked away with a Rukis print for $60 but it was still fun. I think the highlight of the voice auction was seeing a print go for $800 or so and a Blotch original go for $5,500.

Dealers Den: Even more artists I hadn't seen in MFF and some of them seemed to remember me from MFF. Artists that I talked to that I enjoyed were flinters, rukis, blotch, missmayhem, darknatasha, kadath, :linksabretoothedermine, and shinigamigirl.

Artists' Alley: Not here! Really shocking and my biggest dissappointment with MFF... no artist's alley :< Artists were put in a creative lounge where they weren't allowed to draw mature artwork or sell anything. If an artist wanted to sell anything mature, they had to get a dealer's table for the whole weekend. MFF had four large room for artists that they could pay just by the day and it was a bit cheaper than the dealer's room. Maybe it's a good thing there was no dealer's room, because I spent a lot there...

Fursuit Parade and fursuiters in general: This furcon I feel was more focused towards fursuiters than MFF. I met a few friendly ones including a new fursuit crush (as I call it) on raket. I also got to meet Amon from Red Lantern and Lumi again!

So in summary, I had a great time. I want to say I enjoyed MFF more but I was also with my boyfriend. MFF was not without it's disappointments though. So now I'm going to be a conslut. I plan on going to Furry Fiesta (have a room already) and then FWA. After that, AC then MFF of course. Not sure what else. I'm indifferent about Megaplex. One con I really want to try is Oklacon. That looks like a fun time and it's considerably cheap and in my home state! We'll see.

Once again, thanks to everyone who made my con a lot of fun. Hope to see you all again.

I hate eating alone at conventions and would be nice to maybe have some dance partners. Let me know <3 I'm flying in Thursday and flying out Monday.

So as you know I went to MFF... for the second time after five years. I had a mixed experience but mostly positive. I went with vanishikawa and we got a hotel room in the hotel.

Hotel: Van and I stayed in the Hyatt hotel and we got a nice 3rd floor room with a king-size bed. The only issue I had with the hotel were the $14+ burgers and sandwiches and the $20+ buffets. Also the bar had specialty furry drinks between $6-8 but the regular drinks were $12-14, which is the highest I've ever seen. Howevaffer, the staff was great and the hotel was absolutely beautiful.

Panels: I enjoyed several of these. Since this is only my second furcon, I don't have much to compare them to. On the Second Life meet and greet, I didn't meet a lot of people I knew however a couple I recognized from working at IYC. The Kemono Anime panel was also interesting. There were a few panels I meant to go but couldn't because of some of the fabulous things below. There were two flop panels: The Furoticon one where I was supposed to sign up at the dealers room hours before and wasn't allowed to play and Van tried to get into a Marvel vs. Capcom tournament that he was told signups were between 7 and 7:30 and they were beginning at 7 with signups before. These two things caused us to be rather pissy for awhile, but we got over it.

Furry Variety Show: Oh geesh... actually the MC was rather entertaining. The rest I won't say anything on v.v

Fursuit Dance Competition: Highly entertaining! Sometimes I wish it got to the next performer faster, but it was rather humorous. I did get tired of hearing Party Rock Anthem (three times!) and there was lots of dubstep. What happened to furries dancing to happy fun dance music? D:

Dances: I'm going to be quick about this because I could get flamed. First off, I am not a fan of dubstep and how huge it's rampant over the fandom annoys me almost as much as MLP. All but two of the DJs played dubstep (however I wasn't at the Thursday night dance even though I was invited for it :<) Anyways, one of the DJs was even listed as a trance DJ and he played dubstep and electro as well. On a much happier note, BFF performed Sunday night and he was rather good. He played some trance, lots of hard dance, and some good other forms of dance. I hope to catch him live again.. we both have similar styles in music.

Art Show: I got nine pieces and only spent about $140. I got several pieces by Goldenwolf, Bonk, DBruin, and umm... I'll have to check lol. The room was laid out nicely and the minimum bids were decent in most cases.

Dealers Den: Great selection! Even after three days, I never got to look at everything I wanted to. I spent more money than I probably should've, but I had five years to make up for. I met rukis who was rather nice and humble. Her prints were only $5 and she made a lovely badge for me, which I will post shortly. I also met kenket of blotch who was extremely nice. I couldn't believe how young she is yet how amazing her painting is. Probably one of the highlights for me was meeting Kyell Gold. I had no idea it was him until someone told me. I also met caribou and myenia. Great stuff!

Artists' Alley: Four rooms of artists! I had a field day. The most friendly artist I met was mobianfox, who was not only selling art CDs for $10, originals for $5-20, and prints for $2! Probably the most affordable artist with that much skill that I've ever met. It was a breath of fresh air.

Fursuit Parade and fursuiters in general: There were several fursuiters who were friendly as you can see by the pics in my scraps. My favorite was a fennec named Rayne who danced with me at a suite party and in the dealers room and played this character really well. He was bouncey, fun, and friendly. Other fursuiters happily took photos with me.

So in summary, an amazing time. The few disappointments did not affect the bulk of the con. I had a lot of fun and don't regret a thing. I just wish I knew more people before going. The con had grown almost three times the amount since I last went so it was hard to run into people.

Thank you everyone who made the con a lot of fun for me! It was great and I can't wait for next year and hopefully FC!

I had a great time at MFF but I don't have time to write a journal report about it now but I will soon.

I would like to say that I am heading into Denver tomorrow and staying through Monday. I have been trying to get in touch with some old friends to meet there but not having much success. However, if you are in Denver and want to hang out, plan a party, do something, please note me and we can trade numbers.

I hope to see some of you there ^^

So for the past week or so I've been in Virginia seeing vanishikawa vanishikawa. It's been a great trip and we've had lots of fun, but sadly I must go home today. It's been interesting being out of Texas for the first time in nearly 3 years. I ended up coming here and the temperature in Texas in October has been 80-90 degrees and in Virginia it's 30-45 D: Needless to say, I didn't come dressed for it and ended up getting a cold three days into the trip. Yay... :< Not to mention we couldn't find a good Halloween party and there is only one gay club in this city and it requires a $50/annual private membership? Who does this! Such crap. Fortunately we were able to keep ourselves entertaind with Street Fighter, Furoticon, shopping, and well.. other activities.

So this brings me to the next topic. I am going to MFF 2011! This will only be my second furcon, my last being MFF 2006. If you know me well, you know why the long hiatus was necessary. I'm excited to be going back to this con since I loved it so much five years ago. I have a room at the hotel and will be going with Van. I'll be flying into Chicago Midway airport on Friday morning and flying back Monday.

Sadly enough, my Thanksgiving plans have been canceled. I was thinking of what to do with my two days off work. I'm considering a trip to Denver to meet up with some Colofurs again or something else. I love my mom and step-dad (who I'm currently living with until I'm able to get my own apartment in March) but I'd really like to be out of the house for those days... which is still under construction :<

For those of you watching me for arts and don't give a crap about my personal life (I can't say I blame you) I have several projects in the works.
curiodraco curiodraco Another threesome pic with kitaii kitaii along with Van.
truegrave9 truegrave9 A threesome pic with Starlight. myself, and Van.
nattiars nattiars A beautiful solo sketch of me dancing with magic.
And that reminds me... I have a Curio pic I need to post that I've been forgetting. Oh yes I love her art. She has a lovely high-res pack of arts available for sale at a name your own price system. Get them here.
