    Maps like this one, drawn by , appear to show a - to be rid of all heavy weaponry - almost entirely within opposition areas - virtually guaranteeing rejection/failure. (Even though most heavy weapons are normally held away from frontlines, until hostilities begin.)

    Lots of blurry reports on implementation/rejection/confusion about DMZ agreement & lines [not] drawn… What *is* clear, is that what was agreed in was far from a finished product. Stakeholders now have 10days to implement a deal whose terms are ambiguous at best.

    As I’ve written for more than a year, is deeply divided internally on how to approach their future. This report says has implicitly agreed to abide by the DMZ deal, but the hardliner wing is blocking it becoming official/implemented.

    As someone who’s specifically studied AQ in since 2011, I can say with total confidence that there aren’t even 20,000 AQ members in all of , let alone in city. Official AQ numbers would be 3,000-4,000. "AQ-linked" members nationwide? Perhaps 16,000-18,000.
