As someone who’s specifically studied AQ in since 2011, I can say with total confidence that there aren’t even 20,000 AQ members in all of , let alone in city. Official AQ numbers would be 3,000-4,000. "AQ-linked" members nationwide? Perhaps 16,000-18,000.

I’m grateful to for the opportunity to speak on & the NLA program. A deeply complex subject & many lessons to be learned. Mistakes were undoubtedly made & crimes committed - as by *all* actors in . “Terrorist” is a specific label though = important.

: says “most” armed groups have refused to fight , suggesting they have no enmity towards the group. Is that a joke? What happened in 2014? All the ID’d groups that the Dutch NLA supported were *instrumental* in defeating in NW in 2014.

: just said Div. 13 works with Al-Qaeda. They are literally at war with each other! Where does that information even come from? Ahmed Saoud’s Div. 13 was so hostile to Nusra, it was forcible expelled from his HQ, and eventually from altogether.

Baffling to see notorious conspiracist testifying to the Dutch government as an apparent expert on the Syrian opposition. The session began, but he's on the phone with someone - seemingly unaware. Barely anyone stayed in the room - less than 1/3 of the committee.
