The information was passed by a Blasey family friend who has invited both Dr. Ford and the author of the letter supporting Brett Kavanaugh to a wedding in the near future. This should most certainly make for an interesting dynamic if both were to attend.

In a statement to the Washington Post, Dr. Ford’s mother-in-law, Ruth Guthery, said she has “no idea” why the Blaseys have not shown public support for Christine. Guthery is also a Republican, and she voted for Trump. But she believes Dr. Ford and has signed a letter of support.

**CORRECTION** Dr. Ford's father was named as Ralph Blasey IV in the original post. That was an error. Ralph Blasey Jr. is the correct title.

If my father found out about my attempted rape, he would not only have blamed me, he would have disowned me. He worked for the diocese as a director of a home for unwed mothers. He put the fear of God into us about “any hanky panky” that we “shouldn’t be in that situation. “

He wasn’t the dad I needed, but he was the best dad he knew how to be. He would have been 96 on Saturday. He was from a different generation. It’s taken a lot of therapy to get to this point.

So Dr. Ford has horrible GOP family too. And yes, he would lose his job. Instead he chooses to lose his daughter? I know a case where parents were going to testify & lie for their son’s attacker. GOP too. “But our friends.” All to save social face. Lost their son’s respect 4ever

To quote the detective when the son was turning in the recording device he wore while his attacker admitted to crime, “Losing parents like that won’t be losing much.” I am so glad Dr. Ford has a great mother-in-law.
