  4. Is it April 1? The Global Coalition to Fight has come up with guidelines on terminology to avoid. For example: - Avoid" “Lone Wolf” - Why? "‘Wolf’ has a positive, almost heroic connotation. Care should be taken not to glorify criminal activity.”

As someone who’s specifically studied AQ in since 2011, I can say with total confidence that there aren’t even 20,000 AQ members in all of , let alone in city. Official AQ numbers would be 3,000-4,000. "AQ-linked" members nationwide? Perhaps 16,000-18,000.

I’m grateful to for the opportunity to speak on & the NLA program. A deeply complex subject & many lessons to be learned. Mistakes were undoubtedly made & crimes committed - as by *all* actors in . “Terrorist” is a specific label though = important.

  9. : says “most” armed groups have refused to fight , suggesting they have no enmity towards the group. Is that a joke? What happened in 2014? All the ID’d groups that the Dutch NLA supported were *instrumental* in defeating in NW in 2014.

  11. : just said Div. 13 works with Al-Qaeda. They are literally at war with each other! Where does that information even come from? Ahmed Saoud’s Div. 13 was so hostile to Nusra, it was forcible expelled from his HQ, and eventually from altogether.

  13. . talks about 1,000s of tonnes of East European weaponry flown to the by , etc. Then he says realized in 2012 that these weapons were being diverted to AQ. Ummm… not quite. Dates all mixed up. Obama didn’t decide to back until Dec 2012.

  14. Baffling to see notorious conspiracist testifying to the Dutch government as an apparent expert on the Syrian opposition. The session began, but he's on the phone with someone - seemingly unaware. Barely anyone stayed in the room - less than 1/3 of the committee.

Ik hoop dat naar luistert. Er zijn slechts heel erg weinig die zijn kennis van strijdgroepen (met name zeg maar de 'groene' en 'zwarte' oppositie) in Syrië evenaren.
