Your dining experience will be a “theatrical experience” with a special theme waiting to be presented to you. Each dish served will be accompanied by amazing culinary presentation and fascinating story-telling that will draw you into the mysterious part of Japan you have ever imagine. Your evening at the WA Theater Restaurant will be an adventure you shall be spellbound.
Mr. Hideaki Nagaya was born in Japan, bred and inspired to start culinary career in his home country at tender age. After gaining abundant experience in numerous Michelin-starred Japanese restaurants based in Japan and France, he was swiftly promoted to be Head Chef at two Michelin-starred L’Effervescence which serves Japanese-influenced French food has been voted the 12th best restaurant in Asia. Out of all the experiences, his tenure at the world renowned “Narisawa” restaurant has influenced him the most, this restaurant was ranked #18 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2017 and has consistently ranked in the top 20.
Prior to joining our company, he was a culinary consultant with his own unique style and creativity, he took a contemporary French approach but combined with Japanese ingredients in innovative and successful ways. From then on, this prominent expertise not only further reinforced his determination in culinary excellence but also motivated him to escalate from moving to Hong Kong.
Mr. Nagaya, young and ambitious elite, is the Executive chef of our WA Theater Restaurant in Hong Kong and responsible to oversee the whole culinary operation of our restaurant. His cuisine, which aims to “rethink the tradition of Japan’s good climate, people, farmers, food and ingredients” will garner international interest. He is constantly exploring the best menu by using of Japanese ingredients while incorporating academic theories such as cooking science and brain science. He is a top-notch chef to shine brightly on Japanese cuisine with a twist of his distinctive inspirations and honing skills, which definitely will enable him to create masterpieces at our WA Theater Restaurant, is essential to the success of our first theater restaurant in Hong Kong.
