Pak's shocking ignorance is result of 20 yrs propaganda among our chattering classes "hum aik hain", "It is an issue stoked up by army to protect interests" (yes a well-known writer at Dawn actually said this),"India produces filmstars while Pak produces terrorists",etc

It's when we're going in big, that we go in loud. Note how quietly we slipped into Africa. The better to be less noticeable to China, and Russia.

90 percent of the time that US governments make a song and dance, they do way less. 90 percent of the time that they do a lot, they don't make a song and dance about this. Very rarely do the two intersect (2003 Iraq invasion was a rare example of this)

People swarm to press conference and write breathless thinkpieces on this gamechanging move while it has close to zero impact on the ground. honestly I doubt Iran give a crap if US remains in Syria - hasn't hurt them so far. They certainly won't withdraw from Syraq on its account

Murca may not be evil geniuses the way the British Empire had been, but they are remarkably good at being decisively ambiguous. Make a booming statement that signifies less than appears

if anybody thinks this is a good thing, it isn't. US troops being *in* Syria has not done jack against Assad. This is purely to secure their own interests and has nothing to do with the revolt.

Advice for sadness from the Prophet peace be upon him: Sip on a hot, sweet drink for "it soothes the soul and takes away a good portion of sadness."[Bukhari & Muslim] See chapters on "Talbeena" a sweet milky broth the Arabs used to drink to make the heart feel good.

It's amazing how they keep getting facts wrong, and when corrected just brush over it like it didn't even happen

Ofcourse he doesn’t deserve sole credit for this but it would absurd to say he doesn’t deserve some of the credit for Pakistan’s ODI success in the last year and a half. Don’t even get me started on his T20 achievements which deserve a seperate thread.

Anyway the major war in our part of the world is narrative and if the army foolishly tries to curb dissent ala Zia style kangaroo courts, they'll reinforce that narrative further and turn more people toward that camp...not to mention ruining the salvaged integrity of the courts.

Rojavabots r possibly even worse liars than Assadists. Not that there's much difference: both are lionized by contrarian Gapya leftists, both want totalitarian ethnostates under "democratic" slogans, and both style the Syrian resistance as "headchopping jihadis"

"bloodthirsty head-chopping militias" A few 100 thousand - that is a LOT for a city. Afrin's population before the war was about 200 thousand. By your own claim, barely anybody left. I realize you're talented at mixing facts with lies but please learn before spouting off garbage
