According to Sbeiy website, the man appearing in the video was on wanted list by police for 20 different crimes! He’s been protected by a PUk leader. He was arrested a week ago after a fire exchange between him and police forces.

Today Muslims commemorated 2 big events: Mosses escaping Pharoah oppression & Imam Hussein martyrdom while standing up against oppression Two stories with two different endings but one moral: Stand up for what you believe regardless of how it ends.

I am ready to vote in an election which has a 20-30% of fraud because even with that percentage, the ruling families will fail. But I am not going to bet on a dead horse. And those who do, should control themselves when they reap disappointment for that is the only outcome

In the last elections, committing fraud manually i.e double voting and collective voting were not easy. SO the turnout was historical low and slightly over 50% in many areas. This time, the turnout especially among opposition will be lower but KDP/PUK fraud will hide that.

In the short run, KDP/PUK duo and the ruling families will enjoy an apparent victory through dirty tricks but the end of the tunnel is very dark. Despair is the root of all evil. The fact they have made so many people so disappointed in democracy will not help them.

elections in Iraqi Kurdistan have never been free or fair but up until May's Iraqi parliamentary elections, there was still hope. Because they went beyond the 'normal' fraud levels and just hacked the election. Two failed ruling families simply stole volition of a nation.

I am disheartened that I don't care about elections in Iraqi Kurdistan anymore. There will be "elections" on 30th September and I can't feel one ounce of hope or enthusiasm about it. For someone like me who can get excited about any election anywhere this means disappointment

In egypt, for example, despite Mubarak's dictatorship, there was always some room for an electoral breakthrough. In 2010, with the widespread fraud in the elections, that small spark of hope was killed and one year later, boom, a revolution.

When there is no rule of law, transparency and accountability and the only feature of democracy you have is elections and the elections do not fulfil a minimum and acceptable degree of competitiveness and fairness, election will only serve as a publicity stunt

I admire democracy and elections. There is something sexy about peaceful struggle for power in a competition that fulfils a minimum of freedom and fairness. even if you have nothing from democracy except elections, there is still hope for change. BUT

Today is the 10th day of first month in Islamic calendar and many Muslims are fasting to celebrate the triump of prophet Moses and children of Israel over Pharoah! This was ordered by prophet Muhammad after he saw Jewish community in Medina celebrating this day.

Putin must be regretting saving Assad from his people. Which dumb person writes “We hope the tragic events wont make you stop your fight against terrorism" especially if you are the guy responsible for the ‘tragic event’! You don’t say you hope, stupid!
