Bigscreen's "Remote Desktop" feature brings an infinite window of content to your mobile VR headset. Browse the web, watch videos, or even play your favorite PC videogame.
Imagine sitting on your couch playing Fortnite on your Oculus Go in a VR gaming lounge with your friends!
This is an experimental feature that is actively in-development. 1080p 30fps and 100-200ms latency means Bigscreen Remote Desktop is best for movies today, and not great for gaming.
We will launch 60fps streaming and low-latency streaming in the end of May 2018, which will be ideal for gaming. We are also working on wireless input bluetooth keyboard/gamepad support. For now, your keyboard or gamepad must be directly connected to the PC.
Download from Steam or Oculus Store
If you're using Steam, right click on Bigscreen in your Library and select "Play Remote Desktop streaming client"
If you're using the Oculus Store version, right click on Bigscreen in your Library and select "Start in Desktop Mode"
Click on "Start Streaming", which creates a multiplayer room for you to join on your Mobile VR headset. Clicking "connect" will reveal a Room ID that you can type into the Bigscreen app on your mobile VR headset. You can share this Room ID with friends, and they can also watch what you do on your Windows PC from their VR headset. This works exactly like Bigscreen multiplayer rooms on the Windows PC.
Click on the orange "volume icon" to begin desktop audio streaming. Low Latency mode is an experimental feature that trades video quality for video latency.
