Many in HTS are also open to the idea to become part of the NLF. On the other side, HTS faces strong pressure from AQ loyalists, Maqdisi-core, Jund ul Aqsa remnants and ISIS clerics. Many accuse HTS to betray the ‚jihadi‘ path and work with apostate, secular and crusade Turkey

I talked to various sources within Idlib. One important claim was that HTS might change its structure in order to ease pressure on Idlib. Forming a new faction is also on the agenda. Internal discussions are still ongoing but for the first time majority of HTS agrees to the idea

Even in cities which are controlled by HTS, civilians are demonstrating with the revolutionary flag: Also Ebaa Agency publishes pics & vids of those demonstrations. The civil society in Idlib is much bigger and important than HTS

The Assad regime and its backers bombarded the Syrian opposition to hell but even after over 7 years, the Syrian revolution and civil society is still strong. For those who argue Idlib=AQ: Everyone of these flags is illegitimated according to AQ ideologists.

Russia, Iran and the Assad regime are well aware of the risks and costs of an full-scale Idlib operation. The operation may last long and winter is coming. Under current circumstances, TR has to make its moves and gain a much stronger position for the next round of negotiations

Today, the situation in Idlib is calm. No airstrikes reported today. Seems like Turkey managed to gain some time. I think; even if Turkey don’t manage to get rid of the HTS presence in Idlib to convince Russia, Turkey may succeed in forcing HTS to withdraw from all frontlines
