    Part of why it's hard to formulate a viable compromise on Idlib: Because of how Idlib impacts Turkey's interests and security, even most midway steps are very bad for Turkey. It's a sort of King Solomon scenario: Idlib is Turkey's baby – it can't accept it being cut in half.
