So the last chapter of Mujaki no Rakuen is out and it includes some commentaries from Uran that he released during the Comiket, pics related.

Tl; Dr: Mujaki no Rakuen ended because of restrictions against loli manga and Olympics.

So, hat you guys think This is some huge flag!

For reference, the same artist made this kind of commentary in the midst of the Tokyo Bill being thrown around a few years back. I wonder to what extent he's actually being cornered by a chilling effect from policy enforcers, or if it's merely a matter of raising awareness.

I think its both, in 2013 he was alredy working on Mujaki no Rakuen, so he would know what was waiting for him. Also, it must be really hard to work all those years with just the income of the volumes and nothing more.

30fc9f (2) No.77188

>>77182

No, not yet. He even says he ended the manga pre-emptively on his own terms specifically to avoid having to make compromises later. It remains to be seen what, if any, effect the Olympics will have on policy or artists on the whole. I at least hope Tokyo politicians and bureaucratic busybodies aren't so short-sighted as to damage the long-established manga industry just to cover Japan's 'dirty laundry' for a couple months, but then again reactionary idiocy is the stock and trade of politics.

There aren't any new restrictions, but from what Uran says, his magazine was boycotting loli comics, so he couldn't please his fans and make some money from merchandising. Also, even if there was anime offers, they weren't greenligt in the end.

So, what he mean is, even if there is not new restrictions, the magazines are censoring and boycotting loli artist to please the goverment.

ef352e (5) No.77222

>>77192

No one petitioned, but the author ended it himself because he knew he would eventually be censored or axed if he continued it during the olympics. But he mentions that he maybe will continue the series if the things get better after the Olympics, probably in another magazine.

It's not officially banned but it's 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑑 (eg soft-banned) to get rid of all public hentai in general, and specifically all loli content, not just hentai loli (like Girls und Panzers lolis that some BBC reporter was bitching about, calling it disgusting pedo and shit). All of this is done to not trigger olympics normies by creepy cartoon porn and stuff like that.

Though there is a high chance it would be officially banned by the time of olympics

Also they would also probably cancel or at least move/delay summer comiket since it would be at the same place and time as 2020 olympics.

Well, Im too lazy to create another thread for this so I will use this thread, machine translation of the news:

Rurouni swordsmans sent documents … documentary girls suspected of possession

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department said on Wednesday that she had a child (39) (Tokyo Nishi-Tokyo City) a popular manga "Rurouni Kenshin" author Shin moi (Watsuki) Nobuhiro (real name, Nobuhiro Nishiwaki) I sent a document under suspicion of breach of child prostitution / child pornography ban (simple possession).

According to investigators, Nishiwaki suspected possession of multiple DVDs in October, offices in Tokyo with videos showing naked girls in the early 10's. "I liked girls from elementary school high school grade to second grade junior high school students."

In the investigation of another child pornography incident, suspected that Nishiwaki had purchased a girl's DVD in the early 10's. The agency boys training division searched his home and found several DVDs.

The simple possession of child pornography is subject to punishment from July 2015. Child pornography for children under 18 years of age for sexual purposes shall be imprisoned for not more than 1 year or a fine of not more than 1 million yen.

The DVD itself may contain materials produced in 70'-90'. During that time, powerful lefties was in charge of Japan, feminazism have yet to set their dirty high heel on the Far East, a period of rapid industrialization and inflating property bubble where hardworking old men looking for young hookers to relieve stress, and most importantly, a period where no Asian give a fuck about stupid shirogaijin's age-of-consent laws. Nobuhiro Watsuki (or any CP offenders) might receive leniency in this case largely because Watsuki never committed real-life underage rape and Japanese still haven't get used to the (relatively) new age-of-consent law. Unlike shirogaijin, the Yamato Clan fully understand that pedophilia is a mental sexual preference that present since birth and long prison time/fine/death is not a cure for it.

>>80607

Technically that's possible. But most of the time, the publisher might end problematic mangaka's contract to save their own face. It is very unlikely for him to continue drawing the Hokkaido Arc without facing any problems.

61e5aa (2) No.80618>>80620

>>80615

Nope, underage sex DVD/video cassette was never legal in Japan. The lowest-tier underage materials you can find in 7-11 or Lawson stores are nude models and voyeur compilation CDs. But most materials were in magazine form. CDs usually accompany special editions of those magazines, so in conclusion, nude CDs are pretty rare even back then. Have you ever heard of Kansai Enkou case? That shit caused a huge uproar back then. A few decades ago, someone openly sold underage (9yo - 16yo) prostitution CDs, thinking that it is legal like all other CDs. Turns out it was not. Whole Kyoto Region's police force were mobilized to hunt down its producers.

>>80613

Since this seems to be the right thread for this, thought I should let you fags know that there's an important update about Comiket 98 (the one that occurs around the time of the Olympic games):

http://www.comiket.co.jp/info-a/doujinjapan_announce.html

To summarize all those moon-runes, the Comiket coinciding with the Olympics is NOT cancelled, nor is it being moved from Tokyo Big Sight, the date has been moved to Golden Week (end of April, start of May).

It seems somewhat unlikely that they'd restrict the venue further, after not yielding on it this far, so doujin culture is possibly in the clear?

719708 (1) No.82716>>82803

>>82530

I'm still not sure that's excellent news, but at least it's not terrible. Previously Comiket was going to lose access to Big Sight for 3 consecutive events, that would have dealt a huge blow to the doujin scene. They could maybe use this concession as an excuse to discriminate against loli circles participating, but that's pure speculation at this point.

01c2ff (1) No.82803>>82822

>>82530

What's so holy about Big Sight that Comiket MUST be held there? Its a pretty ugly looking building too.

768067 (2) No.82822

>>82803

I think in this case it's more of a "oh good, they're not getting flagrantly fucked with" rather than specifically "oh good, the specific venue isn't changing". There had been fears the whole thing would be called off that year, after all.

Plus, it's not so much that it must be, but it's been associated with it pretty strongly (see a picture of Big Sight in anime/manga/any otaku media? People think Comiket). If they had been, for example, forced into a smaller venue for several events, it would have hurt attendance, for sure. As it is there already has to be a lottery for the space for circles.

9140f3 (1) No.82987

I more or less see this entirely as a business cycle. While certain categories of smut (including loli) seem like they would be going into a relative "hibernation" soon, I don't think they will ever go away. With the rise of borderline H-manga and light novels, I could see a huge resurgence in due time. I’m positive underground and black market circles exist for them, tame or extreme. A little temporary polishing here and there, but things'll probably be back to normal (or mostly) afterwards. Crying croc tears on people based on their preference of anime they like is pretty dumb.

>>77426

This; she wants anime to be a big part of the Olympics. She also defended hentai and loli, if I recall correctly.
