    the fact that the US can't find a place for the Alawites, even in their statements, is a disgusting form of sectarianism and say everything about the US bad intentions towards an entire religious group .. a reminder Alawites are the biggest minority in Syria

    I'm amazed that some people are shocked by these info, did they forget all the Iranian-made weapons in Afrin? give the SDF another year and they will be smuggling weapons to Lebanon. Welcome to Syria.

    Update5: SANA also confirmed that Banias' explosion was a result of an Israeli airstrike, eight civilians were injured as a result. According to a local source Israeli warplanes attacked an empty building of the Syrian Defense Factories.

    All reports of Iranian positions in Tartus province are completely false, only Iranian positions in the Syria coast are in Lattkia province, nothing in Tartus. However, there is many Russian positions in Banias.

    Update4: now SANA confirmed that an area called Wadi al-Ayoun near Masyaf was hit with several Israeli missiles. However, what happened in the city of Banias remain unknown, as I said it may be a failed air defense missile.

    Update3: now a second explosion around the coastal city of Banias, north of Tartus, is confirmed, the cause of the explosion remains unknown, could be an Israeli air strike or a failed ground to air missile that was launched at Israeli warplanes\missiles.

    Update2: it is now confirmed that ground to air missiles were launched by the Syrian Air Defense Forces at unidentified aerial targets over the town of Masyaf in Hama.

    Update1: a single explosion was confirmed near the town of Masyaf, Hama, the cause of the explosion remains unknown, several missiles were seen however there is no way to confirm the type of the missiles, who fired them or at what.

    It’s not in Syria’s interest to retake all of Idlib province in the short run. A containment zone must remain until an organized political settlement can be reached that guarantees addressing of certain grievances as radical elements are methodically dismantled.
