Furry Fandom and Drama General

For me it depends. I like a good story, and it's interesting when someone attaches some story to their character. Though I'd reeeeally like it if said story was explored through the art, rather than just having the story for shits and giggles and/or a poorly veiled excuse to have their character sex it up. I've seen furs come up with interesting concepts too...except they throw away these cool ideas to do nothing more than sex stories/drawings.

For reference, these tended to be "normal" characters. I'm of the same belief that no, there's no amount of backstory that can justify your six dick canine character. Sorry.

 

You really shouldn't have taken references to prove your point with cub art from inkbunny.

Yeah, this tweet isn’t quite the testimonial this guy thinks it is. He seems to have left off the part about why furries being everywhere would somehow be a good thing.

Also, sure, furries are in all walks of life and jobs - and from both personal experience and anecdotal stories I’ve heard I can say that’s a bad thing, because their so distracted by furry they do sub-par work. Even BoozyBadger himself had admitted on his Twitter that he’s usually tweeting or browsing furry art when he’s in court with a client; and given that he goes to every furry con he can, is on podcasts left and right, gives pro bono work by analyzing the Malcomson IMVU, and etc? Really, how much work is his law firm actually able to get out of him?

And honestly, they’re all like that. They all bitch about soul sucking jobs and when you look at the time stamps and read between the lines their main use of time at work is on furry shit. So I guess the real message here is if you find out a furry is doing work for you -

Count your change twice, for that matter count the silverware, and double check their work, because it’s probably wrong.

 

Disco has proven time and again to be populated by autists as bad or worse than it's subject, and is widely mocked by the rest of forum for that fact. Not really something one would want to compare themselves to.

Agreed. The OP of this tweet actually went on to say 'ppl made fun of me for being a furry but i have a job and i'm happy so who's the loser now?' and how furries give loads of money to charity so we should unquestionably respect them.

and yeah cool, you have a job and you contribute to society/give to charity. So do a lot of people who make fun of furries and they probably have more experience and knowledge than you, so what's your point? It's almost like they want a sticker for doing the bare minimum in life because they draw yiff alongside being a "wildlife educator" or whatever it is they do.

Oh right, the 'donations fallacy'. I can't believe furries cling to that - in fact, with Denfur I saw one of the heads at the charity they donated to tweeted something about 'nobody dump on furries, they donated $17,000 so they are awesome!'

Donating doesn't make you awesome. You can be a bad person, and donate money to a charity; it happens.

Shit, I bet I could get a drug lord to donate twice that, or a mob boss, or any one of a number of sketchy people with bad backgrounds. Donating the money's generous and all, but it doesn't absolve you of your skeevy, sleazy interests, life and actions, this ain't the Catholic Church and these aren't indulgences, furfags.

Potential but this reminds me of a socal fur I know that complained to me they only made like 2.5k last year...and I think at the time they were doing like post mates or some shit. I mean I know those aren't exactly money makers but...I know you can pull more than 2.5k.

Sometimes people are just lazy asses, and it seems like furries are no exception. Only they take it a step further, and let it totally take over their lives. Reminds me of people who bitch about having to write outside their genre in fiction classes. Are you that attached to your genres that you can't tolerate one class where you gotta shelf your niche and be a bit adventurous?
