If anyone on the left said this, we'd be hearing no end to accusations of appeasement, returning lands that Israelis died to secure, no regard for security, etc. Kushner has no understanding of either the facts on the ground or the history and politics surrounding them.

Jordan may not "want" the Palestinians but it has them. Millions of them. A confederation can allow some of them to move to the West Bank, will get Jordan a lot of international aide, and of course - more land. Of course, Israel can ruin everything, quite easily.
